Keyed for just being pretty

My two month old baby was keyed tonight... not parked like an a#shole and no jealous exgf.

Beside myself, all three panels on the driver side will need repainting and they got deep into the panels.

Tadpole 11-20-2014 08:52 PM

That sucks man. Sorry to hear that

37zeroZ 11-20-2014 08:53 PM

Wow, sorry to hear. Some people have no respect for others' property.

Where did it take place? How long was it there before it got damaged?

SlowRollin 11-20-2014 09:15 PM

Rocco's Tacos lot. Only there for 2 hours.

:iagree::iagree:

I am a firm believer "what goes around, comes around". For the person or persons that keyed your car, their time will come!:shakes head:

SlowRollin 11-20-2014 10:19 PM

I was thinking of renting the weakest little car they have and then when I get my baby back I'll fall in love with torque again.

Damn. Sorry to hear! Are there cameras in the parking lot? Thought it was a pretty rich area with a Whole Foods and First Watch in the same plaza.

I always wanted to visit Rocco's taco, now I'm scared parking my car there

Fuzzzy 11-20-2014 10:54 PM

Sucks. Good luck on the job and on getting your Z back in top shape.

zmanelite 11-21-2014 12:07 AM

I like the idea of looking for camera footage. Is insurance fixing it?

Hope all goes well on the job search and getting the Z fixed.

Pintsize725 11-21-2014 09:14 AM

When it rains it pours. Sorry about your job and car OP. I am a firm believer in karma, they'll get theirs. GL with the job search!

Mt Tam I am 11-21-2014 10:14 AM

No no no, that's a bad wish cuz then people near him/her would get infected too :hello:

What i would wish for is... to be able to run him over, :happydance: , then reverse the car on him :drama: then run him over again :eekdance:

Repeat that process til i feel good about the damage :driving:

That really sucks OP, I'm sure everyone's already said this but best of luck for you.

SlowRollin 11-21-2014 11:00 AM

Does anyone know for certain if all the body panels are aluminum? In case I have to wait to repain....

Waiz 11-21-2014 11:01 AM

Sorry for your troubles OP

Hang in there, things will be better with time!

1st 11-21-2014 11:57 AM

Certain cars are like children. You have to keep an eye out on them at all times. To many predators.

Sorry about the incident.

I'd be surprised if the Z is all aluminum as it is fairly expensive.

It should be an easy fix for the shop regardless of the metal. All they have to do is sand it down and primer and paint. I'd be more concern about color matching if you have a 3 stage paint like PW.

Good luck and hope you'll get the job which is a lot more important than the scratches on the car.

Moon 11-21-2014 12:52 PM

Hope you get the job, I need a discount on those margaritas! :happydance:

Daveski38 11-21-2014 12:58 PM

Doors, hood and trunk are aluminum

cab83_750 11-21-2014 03:33 PM

If it makes you feel any better, my very first car was brand new and was considered excessive as it was the best of Toyota. It was keyed after 1 month in our house garage. We suspect it was my uncle. :)

At least it wasn't a relative of yours.

Btw, good luck with the job search. I feel your pain.

kenchan 11-21-2014 03:46 PM

wow, that suchs, sorry to hear.

my dd's been keyed too... like 4-5 of them over the years. most only had like less than 500miles on the odo.

Jordo! 11-21-2014 05:25 PM

Get an estimate for painting + clear. If more than your deductible, just go through insurance.

Spooler 11-21-2014 07:10 PM

Some people Suck!!!

SlowRollin 11-21-2014 09:36 PM

FYI, progressive will even reimburse me for redoing the sealant a month after repainting. Thanks Flo! lol

tnav 11-21-2014 09:51 PM

Sucks, sorry to hear about your car! Lots of stupid people in that area, for sure good to have a very low/$0 deductible on your comprehensive

mab864 11-21-2014 11:38 PM

Man... that sucks. Sorry to hear!
