That being said, I did test drive a 11 M3 and a 12Z back to back before ordering my Z. I gotta say that the M3 performance was definitely superior and if it wasn't for that damn $28K difference at the time, I'd be in one today. Good luck to you OP

Performance aside, visually they are much different. The 370Z looks like a real sports car. The M3 is just another coupe, doesn't really do that much for me.

Maaannn .... so tempted to make that nismo body work on my 40th. Imagine that, but with quartz (or wtf ever nissan calls it) paint and 40th rims. Sexy....

Hey OP... buy a used Z and wire the initial savings + maintenance savings vs the bimmer to me.

Get a 2011-2012 Nismo with warranty and save the money for mods, M3s are great cars while on warranty, after 4 years or 50k people dump them due to the high costs of service and repairs. Also, stay away from the Certified BMW Warranty, it's a joke, it covers nothing that actually goes wrong with the car.

I think the 2015 Nismo is a beautiful car, I just think $43k is a lot of money, you will be at $50k with taxes, fees, and misc stuff

I'm thinking the same, i want the nismo tech so bad, but that price tag, i got a price quote on $44,993 which includes fees, dmv, and tax. 20k down payment, 72 months, 440 monthly payment .. is this a good deal ?

$45k all in is much better, if you add mods you will be at $50k

I do think the 2015 Nismos will be collecting dust in another month, I say wait until December to pull the trigger

Z all the way. Unless you like watching your car on lifts more than seeing them in your garage.

Really? As reliable as an old Jaguar? LOOOOOOL.

The V8 M3s have bearing issues, it's pretty prevalent too...

The word "BMW" and "reliable" should not be in the same sentence ever... Unless we're saying "A Toyota is reliable, unlike a BMW, which is prone to break at 50k miles."

I had an e36 m3 for a few years, it was an amazing vehicle WHEN it was running. which has half of the time. Couldnt kill the drive train for the life of me but it was the little things that nick'd and dimed me. Now my 300zx was the other way around - rock solid parts but the drive train kept blowing up on me. Id say just go for what you think will make you happiest man - life is to short to drive boring cars, either way you are winning! get a warranty with the Bmw though if you go that route!

For me I would get the Nismo. And that's because the new M4's are out and I personally won't purchase a vehicle that is not the latest gen. I know there's a huge difference in cost but I would just get something else with similar performance. Oh, and also the high maintenance cost of owning a bimmer.
