what a load of crap. in aus 335's don't run numbers like that. obviousl;y you are a young lad imagining and fantazising over a bmw 335. just wait a few years and go get a job that'll help you get there. Oh and why are you trolling this site if all you do is try and mock the Z. Get lost.

I wonder if that's his "F430 Spider" in his avatar. It looks like a 10 year old Honda Civic Si to me. :happydance:

No reason to be dissing on peoples' rides now.

Dear NickNick,

Have you heard the engine in the Nissan?

Driving your Mazda too many times must have caused your ears to malfunction. They make some of the most uninspiring engines ever to grace the earth, their soundtrack is between irritating and just intrusive. Maybe you should use the raw Z as your vibrator, seeing as you are so stuck up and rude toward opinion other than yours. :tiphat:

Read my earleir posts and you will see not only have i heard the z engine i have driven it. this getting tiring, look your bm's are great now go away.

BTW i am married. mx5 is a girls car=myth, go drive a new one and see. anyway hope you could see past your childish observation and understand what I was getting at. Saving to buy a Zed

I've driven an MX5. Is it girlie? I dunno; don't much care, either. I had fun driving it. It was a fun car, but I wished for more power. If I were in the market for an open roadster for my wife and I to tool around in on nice weekends, I don't think I'd count it out. However, I'm not in the market for a car that my wife needs to approve of. I am in the market for a car that is just a "sensory overload," and my time spent behind the wheel of that 370Z was an automotive orgasm. :icon18:

LMAO .. you can diss the 370s engine noise... but dont you go make generalizations like that about all Zs... the VQ35s engine note made all bmws look like a ******* rc car...

And of course the 11.3 second pass was not a stock car. I posted the quickest 370z pass to date, which is 12.8 (and also not stock).

The 11.7 (former record) was run tune only by a 335i. $500~ mod.

Care to provide a timeslip/video of your run? I have a hard time believing that you are producing the same time some JB3's owners are pulling especially with stock RFT's. Back when I was researching 335i's capabilities there were only a handful (literally less than 5) that were in the lower 13's stock.

Also the run by Hotrod was on 17's drag radials. It isn't as simple as slapping a $500 mod and running high 11's like how you make it seem.

Mate there is no way a standard bmw 335 would do that, so get your hand off it.

Are you in denial or just misinformed? Search the web there are a handful of 335i's in the 11's with simple bolt ons, radials, meth, etc.

the bottom line...

the 335i is a wonderful car, which is fast, quiet, and refined..

however, there was something primal about getting behind the wheel of a 370z, especially at night. starting with the illuminated door sill with the "z" emblazoned on it, and then the "fighter cockpit" setup, it screams to turn it on. the burble on start-up is nice, the swinging of the tach, and finally the power...

i can imagine how speed racer felt driving the grx...
the z feels powerful.
the 335i feels safe.

for a sportscar, i want powerful...

Was just in a similiar boat, but was comparing the 370z to the 135i. I was completely torn, 50/50. I had a 300zx and then a 350z for a short time and loved both cars. I really was certain I was going to get a 370z but after driving both cars back to back, a couple times, I fell on the side of BMW.

I really wish I could have both cars. What tipped it for me was the torque and "feel" of the BMW, it drives really nicely, great 6MT. The Z has awesome handling, great acceleration and it really feels like a sports car. The tradeoff for me was that it was also a bit claustrophobic (terrible blind spots, but good side mirrors).

You can't go wrong either way, both are going to be a blast to drive. Getting a used car, which is what I did, makes smart financial sense, but having a new car is a nice feeling, especially if it's a sports car, you know nobody has been thrashing it before you got it.

Just pick whatever car you feel more comfortable in and enjoy the most, don't worry about appearances.

That n54 engine is a beautiful engine. I would prefer it to the VQ37VHR in the 370z...except for that HPFP. It feels smoother and that torque is great for mpg and spirited driving. The VQ37VHR has almost a liter more though and after the warranty expires...I will get to pick what kind of FI to put on it :happydance:. 480whp on that 370z. I think I just fainted.
