Wow at the digression. Mostly the BMW guys fault for invading this thread, but partially your guys' fault for feeding them.
The discussion at e90post stayed on point and they seemed to be very honest about their opinions. They were almost even in their choices for what car would better suit me. (I am leaning toward the Nissan at the moment because of THEIR advice). Apparently, they respect the 370z for what it is like many of you guys respect the 335i for what it is. Considering a new 370z base with sport package. Do not really care what color as they seem to look good in all of them . Probably will test drive the 370z manual this time and try to get a test drive in a 335i. :happydance::happydance: |

Ok, seriously, the 370Z is an amazing machine. Since driving one, I am an official 370Z nutswinger. :nutswinger: |
If you're looking for a "drivers" car go with the 370z after all it is a true sports car. If you're looking for a nice daily driver that can handle it's own and feels like the closest thing to a sports car take the 335i.
Personally, I would take a 335i in a heartbeat over a 370z. I'd rather have a nice DD with more creature comforts than a potent sports car like the 370z (which is why I got the G instead of the Z). Being in college you also can't ignore the fact that maintenance is free for the first 4yrs/50,000 in the BMW which is a great plus. |

Enjoy and good luck! |
2007/08 335i 3L Turbo Inline6 making 300HP for $40,000
or 2009/10 370Z 3.7L V6 making 332HP for $30,000  Turbo Z's will make 335i's look like yuppie playskool toys. But to each his own. |

Who compares a STOCK 335i to a TT Z? Oh it's a 3.7 btw. |

Oh I wasn't correcting you, I was just making sure you knew how big your 370z's engine is. |

My wife and I were actually comparing the 335i to the G37S earlier this year. I think the G37S is more of a direct comparison to a 335i. Both have back seats, perform very similar and have the luxury element. I liked the exterior of the 335i but the interior is way to conservative and plain. We liked everything with the G and figured it would cost less to maintain over many as well. So we had our hearts set on buying a G37S until we saw the Z. We drove them both and there was no going back to the G after that. If you don't need a back seat and want a sports car, the Z's your car imo.

Last time I checked the 370Z is making 400HP+ easy with a plug-n-play FI kit. Reliability is an issue on any car that has increased the power significantly. I'm pretty sure the 335i has had issues. Small issues, but issues nonetheless. Plus the 335i coupe weighs almost 300lbs more if I remember correctly. I guess it all comes down to personal interest and the owner's purpose for the car. Plus, I have a biased opinion. Quote:
