In my humble opinion:
It has an Engine that sounds like Lady Gaga and is as exhilarating as a night out with a transvestite. For sheer fun, you could easily best it. But since it is a Nissan, it will be reliable and that is why the OP should get one. |

The 335i ran an 11.33 just last week. |

OP, definitely go with the 370z. You're young enough, have no real financial obligations & are allowed to make a mistake every now & then. j/k :happydance: |
I'm a troll. I vote for the 335i! :)
Sorry, just coming on here for fun to read more about the 370z, not to start a flame war. I like all cars and just bought a used Audi, so I'm not a silly 335 fanboy. I like the Z too :) Ok, w/ that out of the way, some info: Yes, as per above, for only a few hundred bucks, you can get a tune that will give you 390hp the crank (340-350whp). As for reliability, you can bet 335i enthusiasts were the first to raise that question...nobody wanted their $40-50K cars to break! But the tunes have proven to be reliable w/ no real cases of blown turbos/engines specifically due to a tune. I won't get into bolt-on options, etc cuz it'll sidetrack the thread into a STI/EVO/335i comparison, which is not productive for the OP. Yes, some negatives including the HPFP design issue (stock car issue), but BMW NA informed us the HPFP is now warrantied up to 120K miles. Nice to meet you guys. Off to read more about the Z. |
OK, so the370:
8 For the 370Z 5 For the 335i e90post: 7 For the 370Z 10 For the 335i :roflpuke2: Goddamnit it's 50/50, just like in my head. |

Have you heard the engine in the Nissan? Driving your Mazda too many times must have caused your ears to malfunction. They make some of the most uninspiring engines ever to grace the earth, their soundtrack is between irritating and just intrusive. Maybe you should use the raw Z as your vibrator, seeing as you are so stuck up and rude toward opinion other than yours. :tiphat: |
fyi i go to UCI, no one has the damn car. I saw maybe one and he didn't look like a college student. Lot's of 335i's, tuned ones too.. 335i's are well over 15 grand more expensive than a Z.
I personally would choose the 335i's because I have driven both, and felt the 335i was much more well rounded for a guy my size. Plus two extra seats, a bigger boot, and speed that can be jacked to m6 territory, I would easily grab that car if money were no issue. |
did we just get like, 5 new members from the BMW forums just to defend their car? lol. :roflpuke2:
stock 335i doing 11's? coughs...bullshyt... rated at a 13.5, with some hitting 13.4, Z's stock are doing 13.2's all day. The Z is the faster car, sorry to crush your dreams fellas. 2007 BMW 335i Sedan - Short Take Road Test - Auto Reviews - Car and Driver oh and BTW, I shat upon one at the drags this past sunday, will post vid/pics in the media section. Also if i may add, BMW is not the luxury car of yesteryear anymore, your average every day joe schmoe college kid can afford one nowadays, especially since BMW lowered pricing on the majority of their models to compensate for the struggling german/american economy. Nice cars though they are, they just arent what they used to be anymore. And if i may add something else.. the Vishnu program instantly voids your warranty, the stock ECU senses when its tampered with and will happily rat you out at your next service. So go ahead, void your warranty, and good luck with maintenence and upkeep. |
I don't own either car, a 335i or a 370Z, but who cares about image? If you like a car, buy the car. The only person it has to impress is YOU.
For me, the only image that matters to me is the one I'm thinking about in my head, and that's me being behind the wheel, hanging the *** out, and loving the driving experience. Hell, look at the cars I own. One of them gets called a "mullet mobile" on a weekly basis, while the other one continuously gets called a "ricer." Know what? I guess I'm a ricer with a mullet, and I really don't care, because in the end, I have a straight-line sledgehammer and a "canyon carver." I never understood the whole, "What kind of image I would be portraying" thing. Maybe I'm wrong, but I always thought that "image" was based on personal hygiene and the way one carried himself/herself, NOT by the car one drove. |
if i was comparing a bimmer to the 370z, it would be the 135i.
135i's are werd looking. their powerplant is fabulous though... while it works. |
mmmm...popcorn after lunch, love it.
