Had an accident in my 2010 NISMO just a few months ago. My front end looked much worse than yours. They didn't total my car. I had 22k worth of damage but the adjustor estimated my car worth 33-35k (utter ********) so it wasn't totaled. I argued with the guy on three different occasions. Took 3 months to get my car back and still wasn't fixed right. Had to take it back 3 times for more repairs. Each time I called the adjustor again telling him I didn't want the car back. In the end I lost and just had to sell the car. Luckily I was ahead on my payments so I still came out with my money in my pocket. I moved on to a corvette. Point is, just because it looks totaled doesn't mean it will be. I would have sworn my was a loss and wished it would have. Would be been so much easier. Good luck to you and I hope it works in your favor.
As someone already mentioned, I perhaps wait and see what the next gen brings. That is unless you are dead set on the new NISMO. |

Definitely looks totaled. Replacing an airbag system is $$$$$. Lots of hidden damage here that isn't easy to see. In for the result...

Glad you are ok, sorry about your Z. A while ago in some states, can't remember which ones due to all the traveling, I vaguely remember something about if the chassis/frame is damaged or bent in any way the car is considered totaled. I could be wrong but that is what I was thinking when I read your first post. Anyway the others are right, even though the adjuster can not physically see it, there is a great amount of internal damage. Being sandwiched like that almost guarantees a TLoV. Now I remember what state it was and when, it was here in Florida when I was stationed at the Ranger Training Brigade, in 2000. My buddy had the same thing happen to him and they totaled out his Lude, he was distraught about it for months because that was his baby, his first etc etc. He ended up getting a newer one shortly after they TLoV his ride. Anyway BOT glad you're ok, also not to sound like an A-Hole but get a lawyer and go to the doctor ASAP if you haven't already to get checked out. Why because usually adrenaline supersedes pain from injury and you might not feel anything for weeks. Just something to think about.

I used to work at precision collision and a bent frame rail most definitely doesn't mean its totaled . we had a new Acura MDX that was destroyed, not a straight panel on it. We did 65k worth of work to it because it was cheaper than replacing it with a new one. lol that thing was ****** up.

I think other factors always play in. How long you have had them, how big they are. What TYPE of damage as well |
