Question Best deal on Extended Warranty?

I'm just closing a deal on a new Z.

I need to find the best deal on a genuine Nissan Extended Warranty. Anyone know a genuine Nissan dealer who will sell me a warranty over the phone/internet for a good price?

(And please folks, I'm not looking for a lecture on how extended warranties are a waste of money—save that for some other thread.)

Thanks . . . Stu

Look up Santa Rosa Nissan. Just don't wait until the last minute to do it

best deal is no deal at time of purchase imho..

just buy extended warranty when you near the factory warranty expiration. you might not even like the car that much after owning it for a couple of months/years. never know. no need to rush on warranty.

Agree. Powertrain on a new car is what, 5 years?
Who even keep their car that long?
And after 5 years, used parts will be cheap.
I know the OP doesn't want a lecture, but I would take that $2,000 and put it in a savings account. Be your own insurance company.

I was about to get an extended warranty BUT i looked at what it covered... nothing that was prone to braking. Everything on the clutch was NOT covered and I was not going to fork over 2k+ for a drive-train extended warranty for nothing.

I agree with the others, if it's a brand new car you're best off just giving some TLC to it and save that money for a rainy day mod fund.

A couple of things, the warranty is transferable and includes full roadside service like AAA. This will be a big plus when you sell the car. My Gold Nissan warranty even covered belts and hoses. If you buy the warranty right away it will be cheaper. I don't remember the exact details but if you wait very long you will have to get a very detailed inspection of the car by a Nissan Dealer that may set you back over $100. There are MANY expensive things on this car that can break that the power train warranty won't cover. Santa Rosa Nissan used to be the best deal but It's been a few years since I dealt with them.

I wouldn't even bother getting it...
I got the 7 year warranty for $1800 more, that covers everything under the book for 5 years with the last 2 only power train.
The road side is great and a free rental if the car is in the shop...
However over the last 4 years, I've only needed that once because of the steering lock, which was a full out re-call.
My 5 year everything covered is over come Jan '15.
..
$1800 i spent that could have gone to mods

Consider this right at warranty expiration time. Then look around. My credit union even offers one and way cheaper than dealers. They push it on you to make commission off them. Be cautious

Interesting, they're my closest dealer (it's there right now getting some warranty work done, the CSC). Sadly I didn't research warranties much when I bought mine in SF. At least I haggled with the guy and he reduced it by 25%

If you are buying a Z, buy certified pre-owned; it comes with 7 years instead of the regular 3. Find a good one 1-2 years old with -10K miles & deal it.

I'm not sure of the best deal but expect to pay anywhere between $1500-2000 depending on deductible, mileage, years, and coverage. When I bought my Z, I got the extended warranty transferred from the previous owner who purchased the vehicle certified through nissan and purchased the extended plus warranty which was about $2000 covering a whole deal of things with a $0 deductible for 5years/100k.
