Trade it in for a new one or sell it privately. As you said...the car is not the same anymore. I certainly would not want to own a brand-new car which had its motor replaced this early in its life.

First of all what is wrong with a new engine?Second do you realize the money he will lose trading in or trying to resell when there are 09's left on the lot?
