Flame suit on at full power.
See you at the drag strip and you will be by an auto. Just 3 little clicks and it's over. Lol

True auto is easier to go fast no doubt, but I would never drag my 370z. Road course, I'm in. I would get owned by an auto on a road course as we'll but for me there is something special about that direct connection to the power feeling you get with only a manual transmission. I do own 1 auto vehicle, and I feel like falling asleep at the wheel.

There's pros and cons to each transmission. To each his own and at 160mph you aren't worried about the stick on the floor. You're worried about keeping your hands on the wheel and not smacking into the guard rails.

who cares what you chose... in 5 years or so i can see 99% of all the sports cars coming in auto with gtr-like dual clutch trannies and manual will probably be a relic. then we'll see less than 20% HP losses (~17 right now on our babies?) and losses that are closer to manual with improved efficiencies.

all i care about is... CAN I DRIVE SIDEWAYS AND BE COOL?

Just seems like a waste of engine. Without the ability to shift when you choose, either manual or paddles, then the auto is never going to take you anywhere near the red line.
Again, what a waste.

Eh, I'd say 98% of the VQ37vhr (IE. pretty much every Infiniti) on the road are managed by the transmission in D and the owners couldn't care less

You don't need paddles to manually shift the automatic, you can still use the shift selector. You just move it over to the left and shift away.
