Default 2009 370z interior radio frequency whurrr?!?!?

hey fellow 370z owners!

In the middle of the cockpit over the middle console is where it can be heard the worst/best. I have an automatic... everything is turned off--no radio, no cellphone or anything. Does anyone else have this problem?
I love my car and would hate to have to turn this in and get the new M3!!!
thanks

I hear it sometimes when I'm not accelerating. I don't care about the sound because I bought the car knowing its a loud sports car.

yeah i don't mind loud HP noise either, but a constant radio frequency noise is annoying.

it's like a radio, television, microwave, or a computer is on, but with the volume on mute. like a constant electrical pinging. it's starting to make me sick. I'm going to go by the dealership tonight or tomorrow and take the supervisor for a drive and let him hear it. I just wanted to know if anyone else has been subjected to it.

Hm...Do you think it would be possible to pick up the sound on a video or audio recorder so we can hear it?

I remember reading somewhere that the sound is associated wit the ecu...Someone correct me if I'm wrong though.

yeah...i'll try to do it tonight.
I was thinking it was part of the traction control because it only happens when the wheels are in motion almost like a guitar pick-up.

There are several threads that talk about a high pitch whine that seems to be coming from the ECU area. My car was bought in January and has 10K miles on it. The whine just started about 3 weeks ago. heres one of the threads. You can search "high pitch" to find more.

Someone else posted about the noise making them sick, and I thought they were just exaggerating to make their point, but it appears not. Good luck with your car!

You're not crazy. It is loud in mine, and I have to make sure the radio is on all the time to keep my mind off it.

I hear it sometimes but only when I'm stopped with the radio off. It's like a high pitch whine made by something electronic, not mechanical. It may be going on all the time for all I know. But the driving noise, road noise, radio blaring, and me singing drowns it out. Well maybe not the singing part.

Improving technology lends a broad operating range to the new Nissan 370Z in every aspect, making it a usable everyday commuter as well as a fun track day car, but the Sport package is nonetheless aimed directly at enthusiasts.
