How fast were you going? Fast enough to be wreckless driving? Not sure about VA, but in NY, if the cop don't show up for court, the ticket is thrown

How fast were you going? Fast enough to be wreckless driving? Not sure about VA, but in NY, if the cop don't show up for court, the ticket is thrown out (except for wreckless driving). You might also be able to plea bargain and claim guilty to a lesser speed (I was cited for 15 over, but at court cop bargain with me and will knock it down to 5 over for insurance purposes...but still had to pay fine/court fee for 15 over)! Last, but not least, is to hire a lawyer.
