driver: only sucker needs VDC... (turn it off meanwhile..)

(crash...)

passenger chic: you....

aszyd 08-15-2014 11:11 PM

VDC doesn't always help... When I got in my crash, it was in the wet. The rear end just let go, going up an overpass @ 60 MPH. I spun out across three lanes and tagged the guard rail in the center. I was not driving like a DBag at the time.

Limeybastard 08-16-2014 09:57 AM

Id like to see the whole footage and see how he lost it in a complete straight line it appears. Only mistake I could see, brake lights were on.

DjSquall 08-16-2014 10:09 AM

Video not working for me. :(

Yup, VDC, as with any traction control system, can't conquer the laws of physics....

I'd be willing to bet after he started getting loose, he just hammered the brakes and let the rest happen all by itself. Might have been saved by a more experienced driver since he had plenty of space, and was most likely going in a straight line when it started.....lock them up, and you usually guarante the outcome.

Video wouldn't work for me on the iPad but worked fine on the computer.

I agree, I'd like to see how he got sideways as all was lost by the time the camera got there.

I think I do at least...

Minhtin 08-16-2014 05:04 PM

Someone been watching too many Tokyo drift? Then again, I can barely get my e brake to slow down the car, much less lock up the rear wheel.

This is why I save all the shenanigans for the track. Being stupid on the street is a good way of making friend with Charles Darwin. Oh well, hope the owner of those trailers don't rape the driver too hard, if he's still alive.

Mt Tam I am 08-17-2014 10:57 AM

The only thing I note here is the driver has his hands at 9 and 3, the wheels are slightly counter steered. I don't think he was ready for trouble but I can't say as I was not there.

Poor Z.

Codename067 08-17-2014 01:33 PM

Sad, sad day.

ajm216 08-17-2014 08:55 PM

I'd love to see what lead up to that crash. I'd be twice as embarrassed after knocking down the fire hydrant.

I bet it is someone here, they are too ashamed to come forward and admit it like a man.

shfeddy 08-18-2014 12:33 PM

Heck i was driving home the other day when it was raining and my back end kept wanting to go sideways past 48MPH. I have them Nitto555 on the rear and dont do too well in the rain. Coulda been thier issue too.
