Nobody thought hyundai would make 306 horses for 25k n so many features.
But they did.

I would trade in my 370Z for the 2011 Supra when it hits our shores. Beautiful, Fast & Green.

this is what every rendering looks like, and in the end it will probably look like a camry in final production haha.

Sorry, even with a TT setup, a 370z would best a TT car that has similar paper-numbers.

Meaning the torque curve on the Z would best the spin-up turbo power...

First of all competition is good for all of us. I am looking forward to seeing some worthy opponents. At this point they also need to get their reputation back. They won't do it just by putting a car out there with 300+hp under 30k. It also has to prove worthy. They do not get unearned respect from me just because they build supra 10 years ago. They didn't import a single worthy sports car in 10 years. Their Lexus brand is barely desireable to sports car fanatics. Toyota needs to come back but these days automakers seem to get undeserved respect/attention with a canvas and a brush.

I totally agrree with u. I got my Z on order but I'm like hey. I wanna chill with genesis coupe owners n toyota enthusiasts, G owners, mitsu n subie fantatikz.
I wanna build with these people. Hang wit em. N race for a friendly G note here and there.
Its all luv. No matter what we drive... we do it 4 the same reason. The luv, the sport n the rush.
I wanna see toyota back in action. I wanna see them doin thingz on the track.
Imagine going to the track n everyone owned a Z. Lol how boring!
N face it. The Z isn't gonna win every race. Even if u think u have a better car? U might not be the better driver? Racing is 50% skill n 50% ballz. No matter what car u in. U gotta respect da skill of a driver n whatever car he used to wh1p a$$!.

The Hyundai doesnt have the good engine mechanics (not the human kind) that a Toyota has. I think they will be very hard pressed to do that car under 30K and keep thier standards of mechanics in the verhicle. If they do it under that then it will not last as long as their other cars do.

Not sure where u gettin ur info from but hyundai right now has powerplants that either rival or exceed honda and toyota. That genesis coupe 4b11 copy isn't the best in its line up but the 3.8 lambda II is a very solid engine. Right now the genesis coupe only weaknesses is too many hard materials and some poor engine programming.
Profits from 2010 should cover either a 2011-2012 update of some of there crappy 1st year programming. I wouldn't even doubt if u see DRM ON THE HYUNDAI.
And as far as doing what they do for under 30k n not succeeding the long haul.
Then u would have to say that about nissan. At a 30k intro, carbon fiber shafts n parts are very expensive r&d to put in a car like this. Now add an almost brand new engine, brand new high tech 7spd tranny at only 1,300 Plus dissect that sports package n ask yourself how r they giving u so much for 3k? Corvette doesn't get this type of technology in there cars till u hit 56k. U r getting 80% porsche tech at half the cost.

I don't see why hyundai can't do what they are doing at only a third less than the G37.
Besides if u look at it. Hyundai has a lot of the best tech in the car. But its kinnda outdated 2. But still, its the best of last gen tech at a low price. U gotta give them props though for having the most modern brembo brake system of any car up 2 60k. You will see bigger brake versions of that system on next years exotics. But hyundai had it 1st at a super cheap cost courtesy of good faith bizness with brembo.
Give hyundai 2 or 3 years... u r going to be totally shocked at what's coming.

I guess what Imgetting at is that you see Toyotas that are really old and are still running great. Will have to see if Hyundais will do the same. A Toyota car will last forever.

Call me crazy but I don't consider Genesis quite in the same class as Z. Nissans VQ engine has been on Wards top 10 engines for 14 years in a row. The first Hyundai engine that made it this year "Hyundai Motor Co. Ltd.: 4.6L DOHC V-8 (Genesis)" - sedan version, removing the VQ from the list. This tells me they are getting there but not quite there. Engine is just one example, everything else can be measured by similar means.

Are you talking about the 2.0T, the 3.8 or the sedan's engine regarding similar in class? The 3.8 was cross shopped a lot against the Z.

And isn't the 2.0T a detuned 4B11?
