Hmmmm, maybe your story is a good lesson for me! Recent new, first time Z owner and loving it! It is my DD, but my ride to work is under 12 miles one way and I can choose highway or through 35-45 mph streets, so I can mix it up. Although mine is still less than 1 month old, I was already contemplating what type of Z I would want to trade into in 3-5 years, with roadster topping the list, followed by nismo.

It hurts to admit this...

Roadster Touring, Sport and Nav.- Sticker was 50950.00. 6421 miles. Full sound deadening. LEDs Stillen sides. Nismo wheels with Bridgestone PP S04s. Stubby antenna. tinted heads and tails. Stillen plate relocator. Stillen front hood struts. Illuminated kickplates. Only issues i had were the top was replaced the day after i got it - it ripped the first time i put it down. I'm assuming from sitting on the lot for over 6 months. And squeeky left rear brake.

28k.

How's that for bent over?

Sticker was 50k and you said you got it for 40k. Traded a 2 year old roadster to a dealer for 28k in middle of summer. I don't think you did as bad as you do.

I was offered a 1700 mile 2013 boxster s for 59k just a few weeks ago. Sticker of $81,900.

Not sure how much you paid under sticker, but if you paid somewhere in the 40k range, yeah that still hurts man - after 2 years.

Don't feel bad though, happens to the best of us - dealer will always rape on trade in no matter what. Even if it seems like you just got the best deal in the world, the dealer still raped you somehow.

A buddy of mine just traded in a 1 year old cayman S that he paid around 75k, for an srt viper (sticker at 105k), only gave him 45k for cayman
"market saturation and standard sport car depreciation"

Now that is what I call rape.

Traded her for a 2014 Q50S . We also have a 2012 FX. I truly do love Infiniti. The Q is my 5th Infiniti since 2008.

I got totally raped on the trade in...it was ridiculous how little the Z held it's value. Had it on Auto Trader for 5 months and not a single hit.

I got almost 8k off the Q - so that helped.

It was a great car - but at 50 just not really for me. I am, however, getting a GT-R with my year-end bonus!

Great forum - it was fun while here.
well damn i'm in the wrong business...

That's weird on roadster resale value. My dealers are offering me only $2000 less than what I paid for my Mini Roadster S new and I have 25k miles on the clock. Guess mini roadster sells better used? I'm looking at trading it in on 3 series BMW that they are offering below invoice pricing as well.

Hey Parkstr8,

Stealership rapes everyone. I bought a 2012 Honda Coupe loaded and the Honda place bought it back from me 500 over what I owed on it after about a year. I almost went down to CarMax and had them price it but I knew they were in it to rip me off too. So I traded my new Honda in on the used Z, but it was what I'd been looking for, Coupe, Sport, Navi, AND manual, low mileage and low price, haha. The manual part was hard to find in the upper full feature price range. Usually found Base and Sport with MT but without NAV. In my area, all the $$ 370's had AT. I didn't get NAV for the map but for the cockpit cool factor.

Enjoy your Q50, they're fine *** cars.
