Come to NY and tell me to get them tinted. I'll let you pay the tickets for me when I get one every other week. I'll be lucky to get away with my exhaust. The cops here don't mess around with stuff like that. Makes my life miserable.

It's useless to get legal tint since it's only 70%. Yet the rear can be whatever. NY makes no sense....

Ontario is about the same, especially when it comes to sports/sportier vehicles. That's socialism for you, always telling you what you CANNOT do. The CAN DO list gets smaller and smaller as the years go by. Now they are even talking about reinstalling photo radar on our highways.

Yeah... this. They are not the least bit accommodating with window tint around these parts... I've had my share of tix in the past... thats why I'm keeping this one tint-free. Hell, I push my luck everyday not running a front plate!

isn't it 35% on side windows and then the rear can be as much as you want?

Haha, you're funny. This is straight from the DMV:

Section 375 (12-a) of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law does not allow a windshield or front side windows that are dark. The windshield and front side windows cannot block more than 30% of the light. Seventy percent or more of the light from the outside must pass through the window. This law also applies to the rear window unless the vehicle has outside rear-view mirrors on both sides. The mirrors must give the driver a full and clear view behind the vehicle.

If the vehicle is classified as a station wagon, sedan, hardtop, coupe, hatchback or convertible, the rear side windows must also allow at least seventy percent of light from the outside to pass through the window.

my tint is at 27% and never been bothered about it... legal here is 35%

You have absolutely nooooo idea. Basically any mod is considered illegal here. My exhaust is considered to loud for sure, but motorcycles can run straight pipes for days without any consideration. Everything here is halfassed.

I feel your pain. Being from California we have our share of lame laws/regulations. We can't have any tint on the driver/passenger windows. It isn't really enforced but it is a great excuse for a LEO to pull one over and start the fishing expedition. As bad as the vehicle laws are out here they pale in comparison to firearm laws. I guess on the bright side we have some great weather out here

Back on topic. Got my windows tinted. I went with 15% on the back and 35% on the fronts. Ill update this post with a picture when I get my post count up.
