Changed the oil after work on Thursday, and cleaned dead leaves out of the airboxes. So of course I had to take her out for a ride today.
Passed 40K and she's still running sweet! |
Ran over a big chunk of metal and the car started vibrating underneath. Precision Z fixed it at no charge. Cross member hitting my exhaust. Thanks PZ! They're my go to aside from SpecialtyZ.
California ----- beaches, weather, mountains, Redwoods, beautiful people, culture, food, and garages to care for your Z. |
Just wanted to show you guys what I was talking about yesterday about these spats pulling away from the bumper.
As you can see, these things have a lip on them which prevents a single layer of tape ever coming into contact with the body, so two layers have to be applied, and even three layers in some areas. A totally crap design to say the least. I need to find some really good, really strong extra thick automotive tape so I can use only one layer and be done with it, and use that 3M adhesive promoter on it. And for the ladies in the crowd, please keep the comments to yourselves about the super sexy legs and feet in the bumper reflections. :nutswinger: http://charlest.zenfolio.com/img/s9/...44484312-5.jpg http://charlest.zenfolio.com/img/s11...44484309-5.jpg http://charlest.zenfolio.com/img/s10...44484308-5.jpg http://charlest.zenfolio.com/img/s6/...44484310-5.jpg |

I changed my oil change and did an inspection on my Z after work on Friday. At 35K everything looks good. I'm surprised that my brake pads still have some meat on them still. They are the factory pads. Love working at a shop since I can use the lifts instead of being on my back and having to use jack stands.

I finally got around to giving the Z's paint some TLC, just a clay bar and wax made a world of difference.

Oil change, diff oil change, greased sway bar and endlinks. Then drove it and smiled a lot!

This is what you need. In your situation, tape wouldn't do much because of how the part cured. You need silicone adhesive + clamps. I think mine was made by Sika. |
Changed out my rear diff oil to torco sgo, barring the fact that my vlsd doesnt really function anymore anyways the torco stuff seems to at least help it hold up a little longer through the twisties before i feel it let go :)

That's sort of what I did last night. Bought some silicone adhesive at work and attempted to hold it all together with painters tape. I guess I'll find out in a little bit if the tape is still holding when I leave for work in a bit. http://charlest.zenfolio.com/img/s6/...47317998-5.jpg |
