I just see it as simple 'music' for simple minds. Not much talent goes into the song writing. "Honey, where's my viagra?"

Thats partly a dichotomy between what becomes popular, played often, and heard sort of passively - you could get that sense I'd grant you. Popular music within a given genre is often like that; rap listened to across its spectrum is very different and not categorically simple.
