Default Stand behind your car and push down on the hatch.

Is there give? When I push down the hatchback part will go down half a I ch and then pop up when I let go. Is this normal? Is is why when I go over a bump, or. Speed bump I hear a thump?

What your pushing down on is the cushion to seal the hatch. That's not your issue. try getting a passenger to pay attention of were it's coming from there might be something loose either something you have in the back or something from the factory is loose. I don't have any rattles or thumps happening.

better yet, have someone (small) lay in the back and see if it pops up or if anything's loose.
