Horrendous day...370z obliterated by hail

All I can say is that I feel ill. My baby got completely worked over by a crazy hail storm this afternoon. I can't even imagine what it's going to cost to fix the damage. Every panel on the car is so dimpled it looks like a goddamned golf ball. Anything that was plastic is cracked, every light housing is shattered, the windshield is cracked in so many places I can't even count them all and the back window just completely blew out. It even destroyed my gas cap cover...I found it halfway across the parking lot. I would have been hard pressed to do this much damage with a baseball bat before I tired out.

It's been a fun couple of years, but I guess the Z wasn't meant to be. Maybe it's time to get a Prius or something.

Billnocerino 05-22-2014 10:34 PM

That is insane. I've never seen hail damage even close to that bad and we get hail all the time in Arkansas. Sorry for your loss!

DEpointfive0 05-22-2014 10:34 PM

HOLY SHIT

At least you are safe!

My money is on a total... Or let the water sit a bit and get a total

axmea? 05-22-2014 10:35 PM

Sorry bro.

L33T Z34 05-22-2014 10:36 PM

Holy Fawk! :eek2:
This is Gawd's sign for U to take the Nsurance $$$$ and buy that new '15 NISM0! :D

Masterbeatty 05-22-2014 10:40 PM

Damn bro! Good thing you weren't in the car driving as that glass doesn't play around. I'm guessing you had it towed?

Nillaz 05-22-2014 10:49 PM

I've never seen anything like it either. Most of the pieces were the size of golf balls, but there were some as large as tennis balls. I knew what was happening as soon as I heard it hitting the roof at work and went to race out to move my car but my coworkers wouldn't let me out the front door. In hindsight they did the right thing.

I'm not gonna lie though, after it was over and I went out to look at the damage I cried a little.

Wonka2581 05-22-2014 10:50 PM

Hail?? Looks more like a Pissed off midget with a ball-pin hammer...

Little :supergay:
But I'll give you a pass because ICE, that you use to cool your drink fucked your car... Such BS

90 ST 05-22-2014 10:55 PM

Sorry dude.

I have no doubt it's going to be totalled, and there's at least 3 inches of water sitting in the bottom of the car. The adjuster will be out in the morning to give me his take.

SouthArk370Z 05-22-2014 11:03 PM

Day-uhm! DEpointfive0 is probably right about it being totaled. You have my condolences.

PS: You need to buy lunch for whoever wouldn't let you out of the building. They probably saved your life.

Thanks, and you're absolutely right about my coworkers. I'll be sure to take care of them tomorrow.

Fuzzzy 05-22-2014 11:10 PM

Sorry, dude.

That's totaled.

Xplicit97 05-22-2014 11:15 PM

Thanks.

Reading PA, about an hour north of Philly.

Pintsize725 05-22-2014 11:42 PM

:( Sad to see this. Hope you think about getting another Z or at the very least, stick around here. I'd have cried too.

There isn't anther car I would take over the Z until you are spending at least twice the price, minimum. In other words, I'm already shopping around for another one.

Dreadnaught 05-23-2014 12:21 AM

Holy fvcken dog chit!

karotZ 05-23-2014 12:26 AM

We're glad your okay man. This is one of the reasons I left the east coast.

houkouonchi 05-23-2014 12:53 AM

OMFG the damage is unreal. Sorry for your loss OP!

kittens 05-23-2014 01:31 AM

wow I used to live in south jersey about 15 min away from philly and I have never even seen hail or anything I can remotely remember

I would rather have it be totaled though than have a repaired car that has bodywork done to it at least you can get something in mint condition

OldFart 05-23-2014 04:31 AM

We got a little rain in Harrisburg and that was it. Wasn't until I talked to the GF in the evening that I heard how hard Reading got hit. Your pics really show the distruction that the hail can do. I know I would of been sick to walk out and see that.

DjSquall 05-23-2014 05:30 AM

Holy smokes!!! Hopefully insurance won't give you a hard time with it. Time to upgrade maybe?

Quantum 05-23-2014 05:48 AM

Wow, that's terrible! I haven't seen hail like that since I lived just over the Rockies!

MadMan 05-23-2014 06:30 AM

That sir is a true tragedy.
Glad you're not hurt.

Those photos took my breath away.
As the owner of a GM also, it was like looking at my own Z.

mayday813 05-23-2014 06:46 AM

Total loss. No doubt in my mind.

kenchan 05-23-2014 06:48 AM

Damn... :( sorry to see.

ZKraken22 05-23-2014 06:52 AM

Feel your pain I have hail damage too

Solomatrix 05-23-2014 06:56 AM

:(

Wonderbread 05-23-2014 07:13 AM

I heard about how bad the hail was up in that area. That is awful man, I hope you find your way back in a Z again.

bkjunk 05-23-2014 07:21 AM

Correct me off I am wrong but you do appear to be taking up two parking spaces. I am pretty sure they will deny your your claim for being parked illegally. Those dents will come right out with a few hits from a ball peen hammer. Ha ha just kidding. Hopefully you are paid off our at least right side up on your payments.

We had a little hail and heavy rain here in Delaware but nothing like what happened in your area. Hope everything works out for you with your claim.

That makes me sick to my stomach.

I am sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of mourning and grief.

paratrooper 05-23-2014 08:56 AM

We got some nasty hail here in Indiana also but nothing like that! I was glad I was driving my truck and not "Tina" or I would have just cried and walked home. If there is a cloud in the sky she doesn't come out of the batcave.

KrisL 05-23-2014 09:20 AM

The destruction in that parking lot is uncanny!

Really glad you didn't get hurt. Hate to see such damage to a beautiful car though. I guess mother nature wanted to you get one of the new Nismos.

jcosta79 05-23-2014 09:26 AM

So I guess now would be a bad time to give you grief for taking 2 parking spaces?

lt_370z 05-23-2014 09:31 AM

Dam PA hail storms go HAM

That sucks dude. Best of luck, hope we see you in a shiny new Z soon.
