I'm much better now that I've had a little time to process it all. I still would prefer if it had never happened, but it is what it is and there's no taking it back.

I thought I already found an exact replacement while researching online last night, and was super stoked that it was only 5 minutes from my house (I drove to New York for the first one). It didn't even cross my mind that this car would have been sitting in the exact same storm.

I woke up this morning and they now have a big disclaimer on the website that it was damaged in the storm and that they'll be selling it at a crazy discount. Thanks, but no thanks....the search will continue.

Yes, just produce the receipts and mileages/time the tires/parts and electronics you invested in the car, as well as any extended warranty and alike you purchased, and recent maintainece you may have done (like you just spent $$$ on your 50k miles service). The adjuster will recalcaulte the value of the car. Good luck!!

Unfortunately my amp is destroyed and I didn't have the time to rip apart my doors to get my speakers. Unfortunately I can't take my brand new tires (like 3 weeks old), but I've been told I can submit a receipt for them and the adjuster will factor them in to the value of the vehicle.

You, sir, are THE MAN. I didn't even think about submitting my warranty, service work, etc....all of which I just had done at the beginning of May. Thanks!

I'm assuming the Delta employee lot? My dad usually puts a heavy duty car cover on his Camaro if he is doing anything more than a turn-around. I need to invest in a DD when Hartsfield becomes my home. :icon17:

That sucks, but hey... look at the bright side.. you get to shop for another Z! Now you can pick up one that has the modifications you want (if you are into that) or a Nismo or something..

exciting really!

blackcherry20 05-24-2014 08:06 AM

:(

Sorry about your car guy.

FPenvy 05-24-2014 08:18 AM

worst part of this is that i saw the PA plate and instantly thought oh god i live in PA.

i dont this we got that hail on the west side of the state luckily that day

Drakonis GTR 05-24-2014 09:42 AM

More than hurricanes or tornadoes, hail and flooding is an insurance companies worst fear. After that storm you could probably have heard them screaming from your house. With body damage to every panel on your car, it's totaled. The time a body shop would need to even try to get all of the dents out would be far too expensive to make it worth the insurance companies time.

Sad to see your ride done so very wrong. And good luck on your car shopping.

mab864 05-24-2014 09:52 AM

OMG... that's horrible! Pains me to see those pictures. Hope the insurance company treats you fair. Good luck and have fun finding the replacement.

The weather channel showed pictures of parking lot similar to the one you parked and all cars were destroyed, how unfortunate, my son had similar damage sometime ago and the car was brought back to life by a well know auto body shop, good luck

blueranger 05-24-2014 10:31 AM

Sorry for your loss that must of made your stomach turn.

As long as you are ok that's what really matters!

Climate change hmmmmm... No one believes it but then again it did snow in Egypt

2011_6Spd 05-24-2014 10:35 AM

Wow. I had hail damage a few months back about 80 nickel size dings over several panels but no window damage and my repairs with PDR came out to $2k. Yours it totaled.

Luciano13 05-24-2014 12:06 PM

That is unbelievable:icon14:

No doubt. The guys at the shop where my car was towed couldn't believe the damage. Yesterday they marked off a 1' square on the hood and started counting the dings just in that area. They came up with 52.

To make matters worse the insurance company got back to me today. They have such a backlog of claims that it will be at least 2 weeks before an adjuster can even take a look at it. I'm told that if I want to expedite the situation I can tow it again on my dime to one of their preferred body shops in order to get an estimate on damages. Otherwise I can go pound sand.

Ugh! When a similar hailstorm hit my community last year a couple of the big insurance companies (State Farm was one), set up mobile claims stations at the local Home Depot. Not much help if the car isn't drivable though.

Good luck!

As upset as I was at the time I probably would have had a stroke if it had been a brand new GTR. I feel terrible for that dude.

Joepro 05-24-2014 03:03 PM

My 350z got hammered 3 years ago whenthe whole state got hit, I cringe anytime they weather calls for serve thunderstorms....

b15 05-24-2014 09:33 PM

Wow thats crazy! It hailed here last week as well and my wife's 3month old car got a few small dents on the roof and I was upset. I couldn't even imagine seeing my Z like yours. That sucks your insurance isn't responding sooner. Luckily that should be totalled. Good luck with everything

Sorry that happened to you, bro. That really sucks, and I'd have cried too....... Just an observation, but at least you didn't get door dinged parking in 2 spots like that! Not trying to be a ****, just trying to give you a chuckle......You need one right now.

No worries in hindsight it IS kind of funny...I was always so worried that someone was going to nick my paint and took steps to combat it and then my car got hit with the equivalent of an asteroid. Karma's a bitch! :rofl2:

As an aside, I was positive that if anyone was going to out my crappy parking on the forum it was going to be you that caught me. Funny how things work out. :icon17:

RonRizz 05-25-2014 08:52 PM

A friends GF works at reading hospital, and parks in a parking garage. She was leaving when the hail started, and she said it sounded like the roof was going to collapse, so she drove her new car outside, where it was totaled by the storm.
We didn't get any at my place, but a few miles away they got hammered pretty good as well. Nothing like in your area, though.
Take the insurance companies check, get a Titlest golf-ball vinyl wrap, and go to Hawaii with the rest.:happydance::tup:
