Yea, yer not immune to it out there either. I lived in Richland for a while and a hail storm came up that wiped out a bunch of cars. The same storm down in Hermiston destroyed the watermelon crop for the year. And I had also seen storms like that on the west side. Not very often but they do come along.

i cant even imagine how much damage the hail would have done to skin if it beat up a metal car that bad!

I'm still trying to catch my breath after those pics. So very sorry. Of course grateful that you didn't risk for your own life...I'm certain that everything will work out for you in the end.

Makes me glad I live in a place where it never rains much less hails. Oh hail no.

Is hail damage covered under insurance?

Yes.

There was a hail storm out here in Phoenix about three years ago. So many cars damaged, including mine. Of course I was no where near a bridge to park under or a covered parking lot. I took the claim money and spent it else where, as it was my SRT4 and it wasn't awful, but you could tell in some spots.

Ugh. Flashback to 5/20/2013. Painful memories. Mine was almost like yours, but yours fared worse. Estimate for me was around 6-7k. They only replaced the hood, roof, windshield, and one of the tail lights. The rest was filled.

Large hail + straight line winds = :owned:

Thank god I live in SoCal. Sorry for your loss OP.

VRSean 05-23-2014 04:23 PM

I wonder how cheap you could buy the car back for, real solid candidate for a widebody and replacement CF hatch, hood, roof cover.

:worship:.

....get it, because. hail. sorry.

Sorry for your misfortune and hope you get back in a Z soon.

It's my dirty little secret that I regularly peruse the crappy parker thread fully expecting that one day I was going to be publicly shamed there. Frankly I'm shocked no one on the board ever caught me as I park in full view of a pretty heavily trafficked area. I see several Z's in the area on a regular basis.

Would you consider taking the money and then buying it back for the salvage price? It would be a nice cheap way to have a great track car.:ughdance:

I doubt it. I would love to have the option, but sadly I don't really have a place to keep another vehicle besides my daily driver.
