If current 2014 NISMO is $43k list price, this will be nearly $45k with options
 |
Since they probably won't bring the Nismo to Canada, as they have not in the past (one year only), that is one dilemma I will not have to worry about.

BTW, I have a manual and don't care if you have an auto. I just enjoy the sh!t out of my car and you do the same to yours. As for those who don't like the 2015 Nismo, tough. It is still a nice offering from Nissan and hope they sell a lot. I am realistic and understand why they did this and not put in as much --- powerwise, drivetrain, weight, etc. These things costs money and does not make good business sense to do it in the last model before the new one comes out. If it is the last offering of this body style, then for a collector it is worth the penny. Good effort Nissan. Nice touch in building and defining your Nismo brand. |

:nutswinger::bowrofl: Jk brother But I think Nissan should've gone out with a bang, I think this model is weak sauce for the most part like most of us here seem to agree on. Finally the seats are worthy, finally it has the ability to have Nav, finally you CAN get it with the 7AT, but it's a day late and a dollar short still. Thank god they did the 3.9 gears. But if they installed a real diff, I bet they'd sell wayyyyyy more! And if it had more power, EVEN MORE! For the record, I don't MIND a duckbill, but this one is really tacky the way they installed it, and it looks too much like a normal sport IMO. And I hope Nissan is still watching this thread so they can see me calling it weak again... Because it's weak... |
I wonder if the front bumper of this Nismo Z can fit on an older Nismo or even a base....
|
I still promised you a beer or two right Andrew?. lol

One of our friends at Nissan North America's Franklin, TN headquarters brought a white 6 speed to our local Saturday Cars and Coffee get together yesterday.
The seats and steering wheel are great, the front/rear fascias I liked too (including the red accents) and the more subtle rear spoiler, but the tape stripes on the black mirrors looked cheap. |

Also how about people, that take the Z to a drag strip who need to squeeze out every millisecond on a NA or stage 1 build. Or people with impairments/disabilities that can't drive manuals who are "ENTHUSIASTS" who want to have a track day. The paddles with DRM are better suited. I agree on knob and pole as well |
Love the front end but hate the wheels and spoiler. Glad to see Nissan try though! Holding out for the next nismo z.

But everything else subjective. I think it still looks great in spite of it being late. It would be killer with a 14 wing. In reality, that's all it needs aside from a better differential. Does the stock NISMO sway kill the understeer found in the sport when hard cornering? I have eibach sways to correct it. |

Its Okay
I like everything they did to this model except the wheels.
|
Easily remedied.
|
Looks good. Better in the flesh. I don't care much for the wheels and the lack of a wing throws me off a bit, but the seats are great and the auto option is a nice addition.
|
We're spoiled by what the Z can fit it terms of wheel setups so I don't think anything stock will appease the masses but make no mistake, these are the nicest stock wheels ever put on a Z. They look great for what they are.
Otherwise, I'm just glad Nismo is creating a real cohesive look across their cars so you know exactly what it is. Whether or not it does it for everyone is really just personal preference. They really needed to add a similar wing, maybe slightly less aggressive version of the previous nismo with a subtle red strip edging it out. Then, its complete. The seats though...my god. Must have. This car dropped is going to look amazing. |
I keep looking at pictures of it, and I just can't seem to like it. Which, in turn, makes me feel much better about just buying my '14 NISMO 4 months ago. :)
But, I can't get enough of those seats! And I'm loving all the dark pieces in the inside… gunmetal shifter surround, door handles, etc. |
jizz...eeeeeeeeeverywhere!!!!!
|
I just want the seats.
|
It's a decent upgrade. I love the front bumper especially with the red trim. That wing looks wimpy though. I know a lot of you don't like the "boy racer" Nismo wing, but that's part of what makes the Nismo a Nismo. It's not supposed to be subtle, but aggressive. The old style does that perfectly without being a whale tail.
The seats: waaaaaant. Would probably be too expensive to do a swap though. Nav: meh. Everyone has GPS on their phones now, nav units seem a bit pointless. 7AT: Pretty awesome if you like that sort of thing, I'd rather have the MT though. I love the minor adjustments to the interior. I gotta find a way to darken all my silver accents like that, looks sexy as f*ck. And it looks like the white ring around the start button glows red. Gonna take a look to see what's possible when I do the GTR button swap. Overall its not causing me any grief on my recent '11 Nismo purchase, just giving me inspiration. |
the only thing i hate about the 2015 nismo is that they didnt upgrade the engine with at least 400 bhp
|
I'm dying to see the other color options... especially the black! :excited:
|
I was excited when I saw the teaser..............
All in all, I am relieved and disappointed in the same breathe. I like the larger opening in the front bumper, but don't like it's style. The rest of the aero is "whatever" to me. As much as I complain about the visibility the 09-14 wing blocks, I still like it. The 15 made me glad that I turbo'd my 09 (because it is a keeper). The only downside I see currently, is the fact that the 13-14 NISMO wheels will be that much harder to get now. I was planning on having a 13-14 set for summer and a 09-12 set for winter. Oh well, lol. |
Oh yeah.........that more refined, mature sports car thing is a crock of crap. It looks like spacecraft or TRON car compared to the earlier NISMO Edition. The 09-14 NISMO Edition had it right in the looks department. If you wanted to look "mature", get the Touring Sport and call it a day. There is nothing refined about this NISMO in terms of looks. The interior is a different story, but they couldn't seem to get that quite right either with the seat installation/position.

One thing that came to mind, was a few years ago, our first glimpse of the Nismo 370z. Granted it was the "S-Tune", maybe they'll make a few tweaks before production, or over the next year?

yeah the S-tune kit was an add on and coexisted with the NISMO factory design. so there were two separate designs at the same time
the new NISMO Z we you saw friday is the done deal as you can buy it in 2 months time |
^^ Ehw. Gross. Glad that changed before mass production. (Oh, just an add-on. Thanks MC)
|
Nissan should sell those Recaros like Ford Racing does. I'd buy them! Would be nice to get a good seat and keep the side airbags.
|
I will see If I can find pricing on these. it might be a little closer to the car release though. they are very similar to the Juke RS which are about $4K each ( they can be had for $2400) I would plan for that range
|
That's a hard pill to swallow. It was about $2400 for the Recaro pair for my Mustang. $4,800 for the Z is pushing it. At that price point I'd ask myself if the side bags are worth it. ;)
