No car is perfect, there will always be a displeased customer somewhere along the lines, no matter the price point. It's a matter of how the company handles it. The Z is my third Nissan in 12 years, and my ownership experience has been average. All three of mine have only had minor issues that were quickly remedied with no further problems. I continue to buy Nissan because I enjoy the way they feel/drive/look, however I'm not loyal to any one brand. I am fairly loyal to Japanese cars in general though as they've been good to me.

OP, I'm sorry to hear about your ownership experience but don't fault you for looking elsewhere. It's the same reason why I will not own another GM in the foreseeable future. Good luck with your future vehicles!

After seeing a 1000 hp, 850 lb/ft torque AMS built GT-R...pull 10s @ 149 mph...on a stock block...that's bullet proof and impressive...and also $60,000+ worth of work

GT-R motor in a 370 anyone? I know know, do search function. Anyone know if the block and heads in the GT-R are same as the 370's, or are they totally different? iron cast, aluminum???

There are a lot of things about the 370 that I dislike but they are all minor in my experience. I do hate how clunky the transmission is...I hate it when when the light turns green and I have to fuss with getting it into 1st gear...you'd think they would've fixed it by now. CSC is a given but easy fix. Other than that the 370 has been awesome.

is this your first MT?

i put the car into 1st gear while rolling slightly to a stop before i put it in neutral while i wait for the light. i do this on all my MT cars... no issue getting the gear back into 1st.

Nope. My past cars were mainly all manual: Civic, Prelude, and STi.

I remember I'd wiggle it around in neutral but never had to actually pre-shift into gear. What you do is what I'm doing now with the Z.

^^ I don't think that's normal shifting for a Z. I'd have to agree with Kenchan... no problems here getting the gear back into 1st.

I don't think that's a pass for Nissan. Canned or not, these are the people they chose to work the front lines to represent the company.

LMAO, not to be racist, more factual; those are people in India who just want a job. They didn't CHOOSE a damn thing, they are lucky to not have a shitty job like your standard Indian would

So you're saying that Nissan didn't choose to hire them and were forced to? Right...offshore or onshore, the company CHOSE to hire the employees.

Also every time I've called they've sounded American (unlike HP customer support). Unlike others, I don't yell and throw a temper tantrum over the phone. they already don't care, so what's yelling going to accomplish?

I'm all for customer satisfaction. Whether it's a $5 widget or a 30+ thousand sports car.
If a customer is not happy and the issues are real, then Nissan should make the customer happy/satisfied. Treating people like they actually matter goes a LONG way towards brand loyalty. If Nissan had treated the OP like he actually mattered in the first place, this entire thread would not exist.
