I let him drive to and from my inlaws today ( about 20 miles each way) and he did very well but I would expect nothing less since my last words before getting in the car were "you know your life is on the line right?". His only response was "I know!",at least we have an understanding

Now that I'm 23 and owner of a 370z I look back to my 3 years of high school (graduated early and never went to prom) I do wish I would of enjoyed high school a little more, having a Z back then would of been awesome however, there was too much of a racing scene by my high school at the time and it probably would of ended badly; not because I would of wrecked, but because of how jealous high school kids get. At the time I had a 99 eclipse and it felt good to have something sporty. I graduated and got a used 2004 rx8 and I got so many haters after that. So many talking about wanting to steal, break and just do awful things however, nothing ever happened but kids talk sh*t as much as they can but some do act upon it. I don't even want to think what everyone would of done if I had pulled up in my car today lol. I'm sure your son will be fine, he seems like a good responsible kid.

I'm 22 driving a Z... My parents still won't let me take out their Porsche hahah. Good dad though, glad you're showing him you trust him. He definitely won't forget the experience.

Is it odd that I don't have the urge to show off when there is someone in the passenger seat? Attractive female, or just a buddy, my driving is is very subdued when I'm not in the car alone.

Good on you OP. Some of you naysayers here sound like you don't have kids, or just have trust issues with them.

Same here. I drive way less aggressively whenever I have any passenger in the car. The exception being if its my dad who is in the passenger then I drive mostly normal.

JWillis your son will never forget this experience! Because of our close relationship with Street Scene Equipment (manufacturer of exterior styling products) I was able to borrow one of their SEMA vehicles for my high school prom. Google "Street Scene Supercrew." It is the candy apple red 97-03 body style F150 that comes up. I actually made my date color match the truck. It was pretty funny pulling up to the front of the school and dumping the air out of the suspension and watching all of the limos open up and my friends come running out to see what we were driving. It was definitely an experience I'll never forget!

Same here. I do not drive too aggressive as it is, but when I have a passenger in the car I am even less aggressive. Some girls get scared anyway haha. I've had girls tell me not to go fast when they get in the car lol. They are scared. It's only a Z... But I've also had girls that wanted me to floor it on a on ramp haha. I guess it just depends. Op, did prom happen already?? |
