CarbonSignal Terrible Customer Service....Buyer Beware

Just wanted to take time out of my day to make sure other potential buyers stay clear of this company. I'm so frustraited, I have been waiting over a month, (closer to two) for a response on a simple price quote. We have had dialogue throughout this extremely long waiting period, so its not like they forgot about my request. I have had to initiate every conversation, as I assume they are not capable of a follow up on their own. If they can't even complete a simple task of a price quote, I have no faith they are even remotely cabable of producing quality pieces on time. CarbonSignal refuses to take any responsibility on the issue, always placing the blame on their "provider". I'm very dissapointed in this company and their lack of responsibility and initiative. Buyer Beware!

Thanks, hope your ask is responded soon!

We get so many requests and make sure it's been answered, as most of emails and FB requests are done by shop guy. Majority of times it's the shipping quote which is required as all prices are there on our website. Could you please let us know what was requested. I would like to know before commenting

Thanks

Attached is our dialog.

Its disapointing that I have been waiting this extreme length of time for what should be a routine answer, only to find out that I have been forgotten due to your "high volume of requests". How do you think that makes the customer feel to hear that their question just wasn't important enough. I'm sure you will have another excuse, or try to throw someone under the bus (shine auto, shop guy) instead of just taking responsibility for dropping the ball and providing poor customer service. I look forward to your timely remedy on this issue.

Malm 04-06-2014 08:49 AM

It looks like they got to you right away?

edit: And you are asking for a new piece 100 dollars cheaper than what they quoted you?.. I would take my time with that request as well.

Donald@Carbonsignal 04-06-2014 08:52 AM

Sir ,I got back to you quickly and with the price info I have. I can't just drop the price because you asked me too.

Flushed221 04-06-2014 08:53 AM

@Malm

Yeah, they did get back right away....to say that they don't have an update on a price yet.....after I had to ask them a again for an update. What isn't shown on this screen shot is the 2 month duration between responses. Imagine waiting a month to hear from Carbonsignal, only to have to contact them again to get a response of "haven't heard anything back yet". Really after a month you still can't nail down a price for me. A month later im still waiting.

Ubetit 04-06-2014 08:55 AM

Not really sure what that dialog proves other than you apologizing to them for taking so long to respond to them.

Flushed221 04-06-2014 08:56 AM

@Don> I'm not asking you to drop the price...im only asking if you CAN drop the price. It was a simple yes or no. You explained that you had to ask ShineAuto and that you would get back to me....You never did. Are you still confused?

Flushed221 04-06-2014 08:59 AM

Its about 5% of the total...not that big of a request.

I haven't heard anything about dropping the price, as I've said already.

Flushed221 04-06-2014 09:01 AM

@Don.... Ok, thanks for the update...I will continue to wait for you

Yep. How much would you hurry to get a price quote to someone trying to lowball you?

His response most likely is a nice way of saying you are not getting a price drop. He said the same thing apparently a month or so ago and you just didn't understand. i wouldnt expect to get another response.

Donald@Carbonsignal 04-06-2014 09:13 AM

It's not that, I truly haven't heard anything back from shineauto about dropping the price at all at this time.

Which probably means they aren't interested in dropping the price

@Maizen..I'd much rather work with a company that can be honest over beating around the bush and not able to man up and just say "no". There is nothing wrong with asking for a little bit off, I didn't ask for an obscene amount, nor was I out of line to ask. Don understood the question from the start...and if you are implying that he purposly made me wait because he was upset about me asking for 5% off, that again is not a company I want to work with. Is that how you say CarbonSignal deals with customers? You obviously have more experience with the company---any further insight on their normal practices would be appreicated.

I have no experience with carbonsignal. I am not implying anything. I am trying to come up with a logical reason to your predicament.
And nowhere did I say anyone purposefully made you wait

No one is making you wait, we are not treating you dishonestly. I've haven't heard a yes or no, if you want me to guess their answer, then i'll go ahead and guess no for you. Does this help us solve this problem?

Honestly, I'd probably write this one off as a lost cause. Some customers will never be happy and there are only so many hours in the day.

CarbonSignal 04-06-2014 09:33 AM

We do give discounts on and off as some might testify here. But for amuse as it's not our item if we don't hear from vendor we cant say anything. Just to inform margins are very very low will be right to say that after PayPal payments to us then to shine there is hardly anything for us so room is very little.

I still don't get it you asked for a quote you got it, you asked for a discount there wasn't any answer and then you wrote just a big post quoting customer service. I saw your visitor message you were promptly replied on the wall

Flushed221 04-06-2014 09:34 AM

I agree...problem solved. I'm relieved I didn't work with a company that "guesses" on prices. My initial warning to buyers stands....Beware of a company that can only "guess" on prices and (if you want to continue toplace the blame on ShineAuto) a company that continues to work along side and associate themselves with such a subpar partner.

maizenblue 04-06-2014 09:36 AM

They aren't guessing on prices. They post their price and you lowballed them, and they never got a response to if they can meet that offer. He just said their profits are low so it most likely won't happen. They are not in the wrong here

I'm confused- what did they actually do wrong? You asked them to knock five percent off an order, they asked the supplier, no response from the supplier and CS is the bad guy? The answer wasn't fast enough? That's the issue? I think you're being unreasonable, and if I were CS I'd just tell you "I'm sorry, I won't be able to help you on this deal or others." Some customers aren't worth the money once you figure in how much time they waste with butthurt.

It's so rare when I end up on the vendor's side of an issue. :rofl2:

Flushed221 04-06-2014 09:39 AM

@Chuck

Yes that is the issue. Waiting over a month to hear back is unacceptable. A simple follow up PM stating they haven't heard back from Shine would be just fine.

gurneyeagle 04-06-2014 09:44 AM

While communication isn't Carbon Signal's strong point (pretty much par for the course with most of these "cottage industry" vendors), their parts are outstanding. You need to understand this going into the game. If you can't deal with that fact, best to move on.

Sometimes, good things are worth the pain you go through to get them.

We appologize Sir just want to close this issue there wasn't any sale no need to prolong this.

Maybe you are right we put some customers off as for you we try to make it by offering free goodies/discounts/sponsorships/new items to cover it up.

Chuck33079 04-06-2014 09:47 AM

You're trying the "yell loudly enough through social media until you get what you want" method once it started to seem unlikely they'd agree to your lowball price. Maybe enough bad press will make them knock that 5% off, huh? Let me guess, you're the guy who wants a discount at restaurants to make sure you don't leave a nasty Yelp review, right?

:iagree:

OP, Carbon Signal is a great vendor, shipping times suck at times, but they're on the other side of the planet. As for getting a reply... I've never had to wait more than 12 hours for a response.
Hell, look at how quickly they're replying right now.
If you think they were slow, you can shoot them a message asking "any update?" or something, no need to make a "beware" thread. That is a bit over the top.
And if I were them, I wouldn't bend over, at all, for a new forum member, what incentive do they have to discount their price for you?

Malm 04-06-2014 10:01 AM

I want free goodies or else im going straight to my 65 friends on facebook!

G37sHKS 04-06-2014 10:03 AM

let me stand and say carbon signal is not wrong. you asked for discount and they didn't reply so that's a common sense means "NO"..

You cant just post on internet and say be aware of CS because of this small tiny issue, I thought there is something missing I didn't read but I read the OP twice lol..

cooltoy 04-06-2014 10:28 AM

I have talked to Shine Auto directly several times (on the phone) and they do not give discounts. Period.

There is only one time a year that they offer a lowered price - Black Friday. That is when I am getting my Amuse rep.

If you want a discount, you will have to wait until then.

End of story.

After reading this, OP needs tapped on the skull with a hammer. CS did what they could, and Shine is a company(like most) that offers no discount until BF. Pretty sure they don't even off a Military discount, but oh well.

CS has always answered any question I have ever sent them and in a timely manner. The only reason I have never done business with them, is geographical location.
