Definitely the 370z decal. It's 20whp, minimum!

you'll get chips all over the car, you're never completely invulnerable. Not a fan of the clear bra because the paint underneath can sometimes be preserved while the area not covered will fade under the sun resulting in a two tone hood/fender area. Its particularly prevalent on black and red cars.

yeah, you can clear bra the entire hood.

mick 03-04-2010 01:19 PM

then the entire hood would be dull looking.
i know i would get some paint chips without a clearbra but to me, paint chips are better than having a dull looking hood.

what? dull looking? last i looked at my car you can't even spot the clear bra until really really close to it...the paint isn't "dull looking" to me.

well, i only saw it on the black E55 and the area with the clearbra was really dull looking compared to the area without it and the lines were very visible to me.

i guess it isn't as effective on darker color cars as it is on lighter color cars.

RCZ 03-04-2010 01:42 PM

It must have been either old or a bad one. I had it on my black sti and it was perfectly clear like Phelan said.

:iagree: That's what we're doing with our new Z, Invidia Gemini (single layer) CBE and ERZ HFC's!!!

chuckd05 03-05-2010 06:25 PM

test pipes are the cheapest mod for the most power.. 200 less than high flow cats

Nice! I'd like to hear that! Your gonna have to make a video so we can hear it :) I'm switching over from Nismo S-tune CBE/Still HFC...to Fast Intentions exhaust and hfc. Come on 6 weeks!

Great mod, but they'll not pass emissions or visual inspection, and most states got retarded penalties for that crap nowadays.

chuckd05 03-05-2010 11:36 PM

Well in NY if your Engine light is off, you're fine for inspection. 9 out of 10 times you car wont go up on the lift... There is also a ton of shops around so if you just be honest with them , you will find one to pass you. I guess it depends on how strict your state is though.

There are a drawbacks with the test pipes but should make a smidge more power than the hfc

Yeah, they're on their way via UPS now, ordered both CBE and HFC's from ERZ Performance! They should be installed late next week or early the next! I'll try to get a vid of before and after install for ya'll to check out!

3. rims
4. intake
5. exhaust

zilent_jay 03-07-2010 05:29 AM

So what happens when you do all of these mods (breathing mods/oil cooler for example) and then your car suffers from a massive oil consumption problem like mine did? That's one of the main reasons I haven't done any mods to this car yet... and the same reason I didn't mod my 350z within the first year.... I wanted to make sure it was solid before I started making alterations. My 350z turned out to be solid as a rock. The 370... not so much.

Looking for first mod advice

So last weekend I just bought a new black 2010 Coupe touring, sports and nav packages.
Other than window tint I dont plan on doing any type of appearance modifications to the car.
So with this information in mind, my question to you guys is what is the first few things I should do to this car? Keep in mind that I dont want to void the warranty!

Thanks
Ed

Red__Zed 03-19-2011 09:15 AM

I like exhaust as a first mod. The car sounds entirely too tame from the factory.

370ZBG 03-19-2011 09:18 AM

Yeah I was thinking intake and exhaust. I believe neither one of those should affect the warranty on the car.

MVPTonyD 03-19-2011 12:25 PM

ClearBra on the hood, bumper and mirrors. Do it before before the chips hit. Don't put it off, it will only cost you more for chip removal as the prep to the ClearBra.

I haven't done any performance mods yet, but I'm planning on getting HFC's as my first mod. It's not too expensive and gives you good gains too. If you can do the full exhaust, go far that and just have HFC/test pipes/headers and intakes as you next two mods after that. Good luck and Congrats on the new Z
