Truth. However, Jlo just purchased/is in the process of installing an electronic blow off valve that will make noises through his radio that is in-sync with his gas pedal...busted! No longer a virgin...

Just don't make any permanent mods to the car... You can always "mod" it back.

onzedge 03-24-2014 07:25 PM

I herein pledge to keep all of my Z's free of modifications.

Wait.

Oops.

Funny I just saw this thread resurrected from 4 years ago. Still bone stock with 5020 on the odometer.

Just got a 2010 base black 370z and I am not into mods that may lead to issues down the line since out of warranty. It is stock but few cosmetic mods done for the better.

Led interior and license plate bulbs added
Android auto radio replaced pos OEM radio
Replaced w new OEM Z side fender blinker duplicators
OEM spoiler added

Now, just looking for a set of 19' rays OEM.

Once I find the wheels, all mods done and will remain as is.

Does being poor count?? Lol

Self dimming mirror, nicer steering wheel and powder coated wheels in almost 12 months of ownership are the only mods so far.

The mirror should have been standard and the wheels were a repair for a slightly kerbed wheel in a tight multi storey car park. The wheel repairers did a poor colour match so I elected to have the other 3 wheels done at no additional cost. IMHO the new colour is much nicer and the 18" base model wheels are now painted to a much higher standard than the original Nissan paint job

The more I look at my new (to me) 370Z the more I cant bare to modify it. I mean each to their own. I've modifed cars in the past, and maybe I'm getting older but the more quality time I have with my car the less I want to modify it. I was able to pick a babied 2011 Z with about 12,000 miles (~20,000kms) on it. It still smells like a new car inside.

I've added K&N drop ins... But I am on the fence to go further. I am tracking two packages for delivery with my H&R 15MM wheels spacers for the rear, and a set of AAM short tails. (Easily removeable bolt ons I figure).

The spacers I will do for sure, but the AAM's might sit in the box for a while. I can't even bring myself to tint the windows.

Anyone else in this club where they just want to preserve it the way it is?

BTW I have washed my car twice since picking it up on Tuesday and I have also waxed and detailed it..... :tiphat:

I'd get the suspension n brakes done though.

Koni yellow

Swift spec R springs.

Sway bar of your preference. (I chose eibach)

I had gone with the full stoptech brake 370z sport upgrade kit.

Drop in filters do wonders.

And FINALLY... An exhaust. The Z comes with loser sound.

Those small but essential mods made the Z feel like what it looks like. An amazing top line sports car.

Happy driving

Why the need for a stock Z thread I don't know. Let's face it. The Z can always be made to look better, sound better, drive better. I get the spirit of preservation but why? Collector value down the road? Many and I mean many will not keep their Zs anyway. And for those who do (keep and mod their Zs), fill their garages with their OEM parts.

lol, I have done a few mods, CAI, lighting and rear fog lights that is it, funny thing a guy from work said he saw me in his town which I have not driven to in ages because he said I know it was you, the same mods, red calipers....:driving:

old guy 06-17-2018 05:18 PM

I've really no interest in any "serious" mods. & I plan to keep the Z for at least 10 yrs. or longer.
Did some drop in filters, thinking about fog light & possibly a low key exhaust and that's it.
IMHO this car is more car than I've had.... ever and I'm quite satisfied, but I'm 62 soooooo
I'm mellowing out quite a bit
