370Z wannabe here. I'm finally about to start the restoration of the 1973 240Z I bought new. And I really want to do it myself, but now I'd rather show off than get my fingernails all greasy. :-)

I did do some minor "upgrades" (radio, carburetors, spoiler) on my Z when new, but I at least saved most of the old stuff, which is now expensive/hard to find. So I'll save a little money on the restoration. ( I even have the original Monroney window sticker, which they tell me will be a big hit at the club events.) So save everything.

Unfortunately the cost of the restoration is about the cost of a new 370Z, which is why I'm still a wannabe. Maybe next year...

Keep your Z forever. You will be glad you did.

Nice Z seeing an older Z makes me wish I kept my hand me down 82" 2+2 T-Top 280Z. Stupid that I gave it away for free. It still ran like a champ and had maybe 90K miles on it.

Like this car. All the finesse and balance that was put in during it's design. :rofl2:

Crazy car.
Need two people to drive this. The passenger can hang out the window as a counter balance when cornering.

Exactly! Think of how many laughs would be missed if you fixed that car so it didn't flip onto its roof at the slightest provocation. It would be < clarkson accent > utterly pointless and stupid < /clarkson accent >. Top Gear wouldn't have even had a segment on it because it would be boring!

The 370z is too slow for me. I am a turbo guy. I am use to easing down on the throttle, spooling the turbo's, and squirting past traffic. Our NA 370z you have to go down 2 gears at cruising speed to pass someone. If you are not at 5-7500 rpm's the power is not very satisfying to me. You can stay stock, I'll do what I always do. Mod the car to my satisfaction.

Throw 4.08's in it and you'll be plenty happy

LOL, Yeap, except the Grand Sport Corvette. Trying to talk the wife into letting me upgrade to the stage 3 Aero. I would love to do a Katech 427 NA motor with 700 Crank HP. LOL Wife won't like that very long. She just cruises in it.
