As a car guy, I can't leave any of my cars untouched. FYI, if you like the car the way it is now, you'll hate the AAM shortails. They are loud and a far cry from even a normal CBE. |

The Z looks great without tint IMO As for the short tails they may never make it onto this car. |
So , I got my Z in November of last year.
The first month or so, I was in disbelief that I even owned one.... Then one day I decided.. I need a touch screen 2 din radio..not this 1 din thing.. Then 2 weeks later I decided.. I need a little bass added...so got a sub and amp.... A few weeks later, I decided.. Id prefer my wheels black rather than silver... got them PC'ed. About a month later I decided.. I need a spoiler... ordered one in a group by.. and something I did not think I needed. a front lip.. I ended up buying too.... Maybe a couple weeks after... I got an ark exhaust.............. Fast forward to this week, I put on the spoiler... then on Thursday installed the front lip AND decided.. hey I need to match the sides of the vehicles, so let me get some CF sideblades... And today.. I replaced the Door Speakers with aftermarket ones (huge difference) just because when my GF is out of town.. I lose all self control when it comes to getting things for my car. I still want intakes, and new wheels... I got bit. edit: Timing is a best guestimate, basically all that stuff since Dec'ish. |
The 370Z
Thats the beauty of this 370Z if you already have the sport pkg. there not much else, I put in a custom stereo, exhaust, K&N typhoons & I am hard pressed to go too much further. The only way to get some real power in the motor will cost 10K with parts labor & tune. If you had a comparable BMW you would have to add this & that to just to distinguished it from all the other ones. The 370 has great lines,& handling, decent power & good interior plus low production.

Stock = blank canvas.

I got no choice but to mod or I'll lose my sponsorship :rofl2: :driving:

I like modding my car to a certain extent. I like mods that are very subtle. Like you could barely tell it's not stock. For example aesthetic mods like blacking out emblems, tinted windows, vinyl roof, etc.

Just don't make any permanent mods to the car... You can always "mod" it back.
|
I herein pledge to keep all of my Z's free of modifications.
Wait. Oops. |

Just got a 2010 base black 370z and I am not into mods that may lead to issues down the line since out of warranty. It is stock but few cosmetic mods done for the better.
Led interior and license plate bulbs added Android auto radio replaced pos OEM radio Replaced w new OEM Z side fender blinker duplicators OEM spoiler added Now, just looking for a set of 19' rays OEM. Once I find the wheels, all mods done and will remain as is. Ian B |
Does being poor count?? Lol
|
Self dimming mirror, nicer steering wheel and powder coated wheels in almost 12 months of ownership are the only mods so far.
The mirror should have been standard and the wheels were a repair for a slightly kerbed wheel in a tight multi storey car park. The wheel repairers did a poor colour match so I elected to have the other 3 wheels done at no additional cost. IMHO the new colour is much nicer and the 18" base model wheels are now painted to a much higher standard than the original Nissan paint job |

I'd get the suspension n brakes done though. Koni yellow Swift spec R springs. Sway bar of your preference. (I chose eibach) I had gone with the full stoptech brake 370z sport upgrade kit. Drop in filters do wonders. And FINALLY... An exhaust. The Z comes with loser sound. Those small but essential mods made the Z feel like what it looks like. An amazing top line sports car. Happy driving |
Why the need for a stock Z thread I don't know. Let's face it. The Z can always be made to look better, sound better, drive better. I get the spirit of preservation but why? Collector value down the road? Many and I mean many will not keep their Zs anyway. And for those who do (keep and mod their Zs), fill their garages with their OEM parts.
 |
lol, I have done a few mods, CAI, lighting and rear fog lights that is it, funny thing a guy from work said he saw me in his town which I have not driven to in ages because he said I know it was you, the same mods, red calipers....:driving:
|
I've really no interest in any "serious" mods. & I plan to keep the Z for at least 10 yrs. or longer.
Did some drop in filters, thinking about fog light & possibly a low key exhaust and that's it. IMHO this car is more car than I've had.... ever and I'm quite satisfied, but I'm 62 soooooo I'm mellowing out quite a bit |

There is a lots of mod that end up on the parts for sale section.
I radar buy something whit the options that I need. This way I am not taking my car a part, and installing thing that will give me trouble. |
Keeping a really well designed car stock preserves the finesse and balance that was put in during its design. Aftermarket parts always make some things better at the expense of others. Pick your compromise I guess :)

Yes if that is what you like. I don't any more.
I paid to much just for it to just take a part, that is why I got the Nismo. Quote:
