I'm not going crazy on mods. I'm just looking to optimize the potential already built into the Z. Each person's impression of optimize is different. I mostly wanted to free up the engine a little and improve the exhaust note. The next mods on my list are a light weight under pulley and an Uprev tune. I've really slowed down on the mods because I was pretty happy with the performance out the box and I want to keep the Z looking mostly stock.

It is a beautiful car as is. I just could not get home without an oil cooler. Then the bug caught me. Added an exhaust as the note needed tweaking, then intakes.

I did get it (mod bug) under control but I am expecting a package as we speak.

I purchased my first mod (the intakes) about a year after purchase. It's been downhill ever since. I'm slow and deliberate when it comes to researching and purchasing my mods, but that doesn't mean I can stop I currently have the RJM clutch pedal assembly sitting in my garage awaiting install

Good luck not modifying your Z

My garage was filled with parts before I had signed the papers on the car.

Had rims, coilovers, catback and down pipe before I even took delivery

Would the car turn become too responsive with wider track width from the spacers?

When my stock shocks wear out, I will get firmer shocks and stiffer lowering springs (moderate), just for handling. That's the only mod I would do.

If you notice one iota of handling difference from reasonably sized spacers, it's the placebo effect.

I used to race RC cars where we would tune the cars extensively before every race to suit the tracks. Wider track width did make the car twitchy, and in some cases ended up in over steering. But of course if the car wasn't responsive enough during turns, that's one way to do it.

That's not the case here. Spacers are a visual mod, not a performance mod.

I was pretty much going to leave my new one stock...until I realized the factory exhaust on my Infiniti FX35 sounded meaner than the pipes on the new Z.

Yes I cannot figure this one out. How can they make an SUV sound nicer than the Z. Hence the AAM short tails on their way to me in the Fedex truck. But I fear they will be over the top in terms of volume.

It'll be too loud? That's like the Trace Adkins song:

Too much fun whats that mean
It's like too much money, theres no such thing
It's like a girl too pretty, with too much class
Being too lucky, a car too fast
No matter what they say I've done, well I ain't never had too much fun
