From my observation, I think the younger generations are more bias about their manual transmission than the older one. If some older generations on this board who have been been driving manual all their lives still choose the 7AT over 6MT, then there is got to be a lot of improvement on the 7AT for them to pick that.

Please be open minded and get along.
What constitues older generations?

I'm 31...

Its hard to answer you when you ask me to break it down further into age group. Reason why I didn't want do it in the first place.

In my opinion, those are people who "have been there, done it" and did it over couple times.

Kannibul you are right on................

'''He's also referring to paddle shifters, not the whole F1 system'

Builders of the most advanced racing machines in the world have figured out that a flick of the finger is much, much faster than a foot depressing a clutch and a throw of the lever.

BTW my other ride is a 4X4 Nissan Frontier king cab pickup with K&N cold air, stainless steel duals with cross over and a ...... 5 speed manual transmission.

Driven manual sports cars all my life (35 Years), road tested the 7sp and with a little persuasion from my wife got the auto. Now after some getting use to the auto in manual mode I would never go back to a manual, absolutely no regrets. Had I have got the manual, I would have been happy with that also.

I think the point that all us auto owners are trying make is that you can no longer say that a sports car has to be a manual.

1 second = 10 deciseconds = 100 centiseconds = 1000 milliseconds

therefore 500 millisecond = .5 second = 1/2 second

I'm sure the 7AT is very nice, however I enjoy shifting and driving a 6 speed manual over an automatic. It's simply more fun to drive manual transmissions in my opionion. I feel like I'm driving the car rather than riding in it...

I started out wanting the 7AT, but I think I will be picking up the 6MT. I want the Z for driving pleasure. I think the 7AT would be fun, but I want a fully engaging experience that the AT would not provide.

If I had a DCT option, I am thinking i would still go for the MT... Look at the Porsche GT3 and Audi TT RS!! Both MTs!! Just my thoughts. Power to anyone with a Z, MT or AT....

Do yourself a favor and AT LEAST test drive both the 7AT and the 6MT before deciding.

While that may be true... this is regarding times and there is no Metric vs. English in measuring time. We all use the same time measuring system and "millisecond" just isn't that rare. No excuses!
