I'm still lol'ing at how he "beat the m5" and how they were "both flooring it" but "not racing" Smh.

Meh, I save the spirited driving for when I'm in the car alone, or if my buddies are riding along (car guys), but even that's rare.
I drive differently with passengers, because I'm responsible for them should anything happen. I dunno, I guess it's part of being a mature adult. |

shit is going to happen no matter how you approach it. You can't be safe for everyone else out there texting, drinking, doing make-up, and who-knows-what-else while driving.

I know, but if I'm taking a corner faster-than-normal, and I wreck by myself, then I did it to myself and I can live with that. If I wreck with a passenger in the car, I can't live with the lack of responsibility I showed towards their trust in me and their lively hood (should they have been hurt). |

Speed is relative to your surroundings and the perception of speed is increased with external disturbances to the smoothness of the Z's typical behavior. For instance, I can take my wife on some of the fairly straight & smooth rural NM roads at 100+ mph and she doesn't blink an eye. I can unexpectedly take her through a 25 mph turn at 60 mph and she just might finger jab me in the eye.
![]() However, I can take her through that same turn over and over again starting at say 30 mph while incrementing 5 mph each time and she gets used to it and actually asks if we can take that route home (true story). Also, giving into the taunts and challenges of any other drivers on the road just shows weakness and character flaws which doesn't usually fair well with most ladies. |

![]() The few times are when my wife comes along for a cruise with some fellow Z owners - sometimes those cruises are very relaxed and sometimes they are very spirited. I definitely recommend the parking lot practice ![]()

My wife bitches at me all the time to slow down on curves and turns. I just ignore her for the most part. She knows I can handle the Z and is much better now - she just closes her eyes, grabs the handle on the door, and shuts up. I'm considering installing an Oh $hit handle on the passenger side A-pillar for her
![]() To be fair to her, she drives the car pretty aggressively herself. But one of the first times we cruised with another group of Z's (a couple years ago), I pushed it really hard on Lime Creek and had wheels off the road several times, which made her very uncomfortable. I was leading a group with the fast guys following first, and I didn't want to disappoint them ![]() It took a year or so after that before she would let me spin the wheels on purpose without yelling at me (although I do have to wait until they're nearing replacement or else she bitches about wasting tread). Since I DD the Z, I get plenty of opportunity to drive hard without her in the car.

the one time my wife rode shotgun she fell a sleep saying she liked the sound of the fujimura, how firm yet smooth my Z rides, and just overall a very plesant cocoon like place to be.
