Guess what I did..........wait for it..........I respected her wishes.
I won't do it again with her in the car.

If you can not control yourself to show a woman that she means more to you than your self absorbed enjoyment, than you are a sad man.

If she like it, then cool go with it. If it turns her on, by all mean get her hot. If it makes her mad or frightened, then show her some respect.

:iagree:

My gf doesn't care about straight line speed within reason. Sideways stuff is unacceptable.

What about back and forth speed?

Just in case this is serious, here's a couple more things.

1- It's possible she has had a bad accident in her life, either herself or someone near her, and it might actually be a traumatic experience.

2- She might actually be scared, yo. Some people go on rollercoasters, others do not. Some go on the thing that shoots up into the air suddenly, some do not. The worst is when you *force* someone into those situations. If it goes badly, you'll never be forgiven. Ever. And she will never trust you again. Ever.

3- She might actually be worried about YOU! Maybe you've had an accident, and doesn't want you to keep doing stupid things that may take you away from her.

4- If a girlfriend regularly put you into a situation where you actually felt your life (or way of life) might be threatened in a negative way, would you be ok with that and just, "lighten up," or "get used to it?"

Do you also keep trying to stick it in her B despite the last time you got punched in the throat and she didn't talk to you for 4 days while eying the gun case under the nightstand every night?

Being exciting and thrilling and safely spontaneous is great. But at some point she needs to feel utterly safe and trusting in you when you're together.

shaun66 03-18-2014 12:43 PM

Just be careful what you do with passengers in your car. I lost a friend in a high school to a car accident, because his friend was driving too fast with him in the passenger seat. Driver lived though.

It's also possible the OP may not be as good a driver as he thinks and the GF is having a completely normal reaction.

ANMVQ 03-18-2014 01:16 PM

My wifes the same way, Just how they are man, Have you ever been a passenger in a car doing 100+? The out of control feeling is not fun. Even of you trust the drive the are other idiots out there to deal with not just you! Ever think that way.

XiP 03-18-2014 01:18 PM

man this troll found a buffet lol

wstar 03-18-2014 01:38 PM

Sign your girlfriend up for an HPDE weekend. Then 6 months later she'll leave you and take your car with her :)

my2004Z 03-18-2014 02:05 PM

Speed is relative to your surroundings and the perception of speed is increased with external disturbances to the smoothness of the Z's typical behavior. For instance, I can take my wife on some of the fairly straight & smooth rural NM roads at 100+ mph and she doesn't blink an eye. I can unexpectedly take her through a 25 mph turn at 60 mph and she just might finger jab me in the eye. :icon14:

However, I can take her through that same turn over and over again starting at say 30 mph while incrementing 5 mph each time and she gets used to it and actually asks if we can take that route home (true story). Also, giving into the taunts and challenges of any other drivers on the road just shows weakness and character flaws which doesn't usually fair well with most ladies.

Umm yeah, 165+ in a friend's Vette on a two lane farm road - telephone poles whizzing by, only later did I realize just how F*&#ing scared I should have been. But the thrill at the time was tremendous.

My GF loves the Z. She also loves driving it too! Yes. That's right. I let her. She knows what she's doing.

Best girlfriend ever.

Joepro 03-19-2014 11:57 AM

I don't have a GF, im fat and and an ahole, but anyway, I am a TERRIBLE passenger myself, if I am in control no problem, but the lack of control for me is an issue, however, if I ever have a GF, she must like the Z and cars in general or Ill die alone, its a requirment, does not mean she will like going fast and doing stupid crap, thats understandable...my buddies love the Z, one of them made me take his wife for a ride, she yelled at me because I did not drive like an ahole with her, never with passengers, only alone unless they give me permision and understand the risk involved with these type driving, and in traffic situations its a no no as well.

That my fellow Z friends is how you execute a fantastic RO sentence.

Hell when I'm out cruising, its almosy guaranteed I'll have a minivan or suv tailgate me then floor it to pass me. I just smile and go on my merry way

havn't had my Z a month and this exact thing has happened more times than I have appendiges to count with ... so ... more than ... 21.

My gf hates it even when I accelerate rather quickly. She says it makes her nervous and uncomfortable...but whatevs I just laugh hysterically at her face whenever I'm done.

I'm imagining this over and over, and each time the hysterical laugh gets more and more hysterical.

At times I don't even bother to look at the road and just stare into her soul while laughing and shifts from 1st to 3rd, hard.

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for the great advice and the complements on my picture/avatar.

Anyway- I think I solved the problem!

I showed her the VDC button and explained to her that when it is on, the computer won't let the car crash. Now she feels better.

Of course leaving it on all the time is a bummer, but at least I can have a little fun when I take her to places in it.

LMAO! I told my wife the same thing. Then when it was off during a fun run at an auto cross she was scared shitless, my sig pic was that day. But she knows what light it is on the dash so I can't turn it off unexpectedly, she watches the speedo like a hawk. Lol. She told me if I get a ticket then it becomes her car and I drive her old *** 2001 Altima. Two years and counting our z is still my daily. :tiphat:
