Outside of the fun and lighthearted responses, lots of good, balanced, real life feedback OP. You may not like it but look at the bright side, you see other's perspective and have input on info you may not otherwise consider. Bottom line - don't get into something that's beyond your means. This applies to things beyond the 4 wheels of your Z.

They are basically low-tech voltage regulators. They are generally designed to make the MAF or IAT sensors read a different voltage, thus affecting fueling, which the ECU adjusts according to those sensor readings.
No idea if that one pictured above will actually change the voltage reading, but if it does anything, it does that. Anyway, not recommended.

Bully Dog? Moving on to Stillen? It looks like someone needs to stop buying and start researching.

Have you dynoed it to verify any power gains?

No dyno at this point. Car is about 2 weeks old and so far, I have only added an intake and the tuner. My "***" dyno tells me that there is something more there. Also, to mention, I didn't pay anywhere near $600 for my tuner. More like $300. With the gauge capability, increased throttle response and increased "feel" it was worth my investment.

Anyway, if you're looking for speed, you need to trade in the Z for a 5.0 Mustang. Just sayin.' |

Once you get some more miles on the car, throw it on the dyno. We'd love to see if those things actually add power. So far you're probably the only one using it.

When you think of how often you will actually use the extra power, from any modding, is the price ever worth it except for millionaires who have money lying around for just about everything else?
How often would you use that extra power, maybe 1% of the time? How much of the mileage on your car came from when you were using that extra power? To consider saving $7k for a 2009 is midboggling to a poor simple man. |
