What do you wish you got that you didn't get?
We all love our Z to pieces. But after a little bit maybe you wish you had a rear view camera, illuminated kick plates, those teeny mudflaps, or a better sound system. That's easy to install so no harm done. But some things cannot be installed, and they need to be selected at the outset and purchased on Day One.
Is there anything that you did NOT get and now you look back and say, "Hmm if I had it to do over again I'd get a Z with ________." Of course we can all sell and upgrade, at a huge loss no doubt. But for others looking at a Z, maybe we can give them an idea of what to consider a little longer before pulling the trigger. Select all that apply! |
I was not all that familiar with the Z when i bought mine and the dealer listed it as touring sport when it is really a base sport
|
I'll jump on this one and say sometimes I wish I shopped around for a black Z. Of course I have a black Frontier so after a day of washing/waxing it makes me want to drink bleach and gargle with razor blades...but it looks good cleaned up. Oh and birds love to $hit on silver cars.
|
I'd get a convertible. Now someone with a convertible tell me how bad they are!
|
Nope - love my ZR. But I'm a multiple car family - so if I were single it would not work with 2 100lb dogs.
|
I clicked on all of the options without reading them just because I was allowed to do so :icon17:
|
|
i should've went with the deep freezer option. :shakes head:
|
I got the convertible and sometimes I wish I'd gotten the touring hardtop. Nothing wrong with the ragtop, I just think the hardtop has better lines; except when I put the top down. Then I like it.

No regrets with my lil man, love shifting, love the sexy black, can't live without navigation and the big brakes are just pure yummy. I chose wisely!

True story. Time to go cruise the HS's. :wtf2: I'll make up a "Free booze" sign, that's sure to lure them into the car. :ugh2: |

The Porsche is sure to pull more tail than a Z with "Free Booze". :(

Looking back...I wish:
- My Z came stock with TE37s + RE11's, full Amuse body kit, FI TT, FI exhaust, Defi gauges galore, KW V3s, SPL arms, kickin' sound system, and some Bride seats along with some other random cool stuff here and there. |
The regret threads are back!!!!!
who remembers those??? haha :rofl2: |
Check: I planned it right the first time and to me......y'all 'right.
I studied and test drove a Nismo, the Sport Touring, and the Base. If the Nismo had the Nav and leather, I'd be all over it. Not meant to be here in the US. Quote:

Can we ban regret threads? It brings out the trolls. |
I see that a lot of people are planning around here!
I am thinking about a 370Z right now, to replace the HR 350Z I had and I was contemplating the 40th Edition and the Nismo Edition... Well here's the thing... I know that I will mod this car and I'm scared of taking away what's so specific about those 2 models so I'm debating whether or not go get a Base with Sport or just a Nismo or a 40... Humm ... Subbed' for more insights :) |

And fiiiiine, I'll post a legitimate response:
I voted the last option. I got exactly what I wanted from the car. Some days I wish I would have gotten the 7AT (******* traffic), but in the end I don't, because it's not a dual-clutch system, so I don't want a poser tranny (:ugh:). |

Things
I agree with Haboob, LAID, btw I am really happy with the convertible . And Officer Bennett with the Texas Highway Patrol seems to like it as well!
Cheers |
When I bought the '13 I got the only manual transmission they had a touring + sport in black. It wasn't until after this that I saw the awesome Midnight Blue so that's one of my regrets, the other is a backup camera which I will probably get eventually. I have to decide if I want to go through the hassle of pulling out the bose and getting a system with nav/backup or just opt for the rearview mirror backup cam combo. That being said, I love my Z!
|
I got it right from the jump.
While I got my 40th Anniversary slightly used it had everything I could want, its the sport + touring and even has the Nav option that 'mericans can't get (on the 40th) so I'm happy I drove the 2 hrs to find it. I wish I had the illuminated kick plates and eventually ended up getting them last summer. So when speaking of options out the gate...not one regret! |

I just remembered. Not on your list and not about anything on the Z itself but otherwise I should have considered. An extended warranty for my peace of mind.

Umm.I was pretty much set on having a Gun Metal or Pearl white Z with Sports package.
I ended up with Metalic black which was probably my 3rd option. I did not really consider it in the past, but it wasn't something I would pass on right away. So, in regards to paint..sometimes I wish I did get the Gun metal. I wish the gun metal was slightly darker like the 40th though. Black paint has made me invest heavily on detail supplies. Overall, I am happy with the black paint..it looks the best when clean The one I checked on the poll: getting the Touring. It wasn't a big deal to get touring or not (besides the price tag), but sometimes I do wish I had gotten that slightly extra better looking interior. (Radio, Seats, Side pannels things) oh well.. |
As far as convertible, I would have loved to get one, but here in FL the general population "walking" the streets, would prevent me locking it....because they just cut into the top, open the door, and even if there's nothing in there, they still look...we have a lot of those street walking people. And we all know no one pays any attention to car alarms anymore.
Other than that I'd love the convertible in FL, but honestly it is hot as hades down here with top down might be murder! So I guess I lied a tiny bit in my vote, I did get what I wanted, and what's safest for me as a DD at malls, at movies, at clubs, at NIGHT, etc. when the crack addicts are roaming. |
