I planned for months before contacting a dealership. I'm so torn between Gun Metallic and Pure White that I kicked around buying two Zs. :roflpuke2::rofl2::roflpuke2::rofl2:

Without getting into the "which is a better value model Z" I love the base model I got because of what I wanted to do to it. Color was the only thing I was really looking for; black. Only reason I'd go with a better model is because of the calipers; everything else I'd augment and replace.

I got exactly what I wanted. 2013 Gunmetal Base, 6sp, with the sport package. Leather was a must have for me, so I had the dealer install black leather. I did the same thing with my 350z Track Edition back in '03. Stock stereo is a bit weak, but it doesn't sound like the Bose system in the Touring is much better.

I wanted a 6 speed base with the sport pack in silver. There wasn't one in the PNW at the time after the dealer did a search so I settled for my second favorite color which was gun metallic. I like it a lot and I'm happy with the color. I need to upgrade the stereo though. The base model stereos are a joke.
