Why did you buy 370z

What made you choose 370z?

For me, i tried both powerful cars with less handling abilities and nimble cars that are relatively low on power.

The latter one is more fun/rewarding to drive, for me.

I sold my 2012 Charger and got a 2007 manual 350z. Loved the car but hated the interior and the clutch.

Now i have the 370z and loving it, apart from the exhaust note.

Have absolutely loved the look of the 370Z since it was released in '09. Mulled it over and figured out I needed it by early 2013.

- Looks beautiful and sexy
- Has a measure of uniqueness to it on the road (i.e. not "common")
- V6 (I'm a V6 guy, but 4+turbo is winning me over these days)
- Has fun power and drives well, without relying on aftermarket
- felt great driving it and being inside of it
- not stupid expensive

Also have no family at the moment, so I can still get away with a 2-seater.

I'm ridiculously reserved and introverted, so the last thing I want is attention, but it is way fun the rubber necking one gets with the Z. I would dare say there's no other stock, "easily" accessible car that gets looks like that from anyone (not just the "car guys") that costs less than $100k.

Agree with you. I would add relatively not expensive to run and one of the last old school sports
I still got a sedan for the family. I figured a V8 wont hurt :)
Got a used E63. Freakin train on a straight.

Many reasons! I am so glad it's one of those cars that you don't see everyday. Even on weekends.

Had a Mercedes.
Had a Porsche.
Wanted more.
Got the Z.

kfull 12-12-2013 05:54 PM

drove a friend's 350z back in high school, after that the Z was basically my dream car

Masterbeatty 12-12-2013 06:01 PM

Loved the way it looked. I also wanted a track car that I didn't need to do anything to or very little. And I got a great deal.

equalme 12-12-2013 06:12 PM

Went from:
Civic (5spd) -> Prelude (5spd) -> STi (6spd) -> TSX (auto) -> Prius -> Broke up with long-term girlfriend -> 370Z.

I was looking at the FRS/BRZ but it didn't click with me...I couldn't help but keep thinking it was like a rwd RSX. I was also looking at IS350, but figured the back seats were so compact...I might as well look at 2-seaters. Saw the 40th and it was love at first sight.

RonRizz 12-12-2013 06:17 PM

Cuz wife told me I better not. Surprise Honey!!!!

Is this how the conversation went down?

*you come home*
W: Hey hunny, I have some news!
RR: What, dinner is ready?
W: We're pregnant!!! Surprise honey!!!

*you storm out, peel out in your car and go to Nissan, come back, kick the door open*
RR: SURPRISE HONEY!!! I got my car, now fetch me a beer since you can't drink

luigi90210 12-12-2013 06:55 PM

Because I got my Z cheaper than the evo X I was looking at.

Gadgetech 12-12-2013 07:13 PM

I've like Z cars for years and when they came out with the 350Z I couldn't quite afford one and while I liked it there was just something that didn't click. Then they came out with the 370Z. I almost bought an 09 at the end of the year but the wife was against it b/c of some kid nonsense (I told her I didn't ever want kids). This time I started talking about the car a couple weeks before hand. Told her I was going to gallivant one Saturday and she knew what was going down. I took the car home for the weekend and bought it on Monday.

I mean, it's a Z...how do you pass that up?

KN21283 12-12-2013 07:45 PM

Because I couldn't afford a gtr

Riptide67 12-12-2013 08:03 PM

It had the interior and extra power I always wanted in my 350z. Let's face it...it's a gorgeous car with decent power and is fun as hell to drive from the factory.

eastexZ 12-12-2013 11:17 PM

Had a beautiful charcoal 2003 350Z. Low mileage wonderful car. Just decided to get a 70 cause I loved the looks I guess more than anything. Bought the same color and most people don't know I got a new car.lol Bang for the buck it's just a hell of a car. Just seems to be the car I never grow tired of.

The quality of the interior is just that much better. I've driven a 350z a few times and they were definitely a rattle bucket.

V4 turbo? Hmmmm :ugh2:

Chuck33079 12-13-2013 07:30 AM

I bought a 370 because it was simple enough to get it to the power level I wanted, and would still be either cheaper, newer, better looking or more reliable than the other cars I was looking at. Had the dealer been more willing to play ball on the CTSV coupe I was looking at or the Porsche dealer even spoken to me when I walked into the showroom, I'd probably have taken one of those home instead. The 370 was a solid second choice once I saw the FI options out there for it.

VincentLe 12-13-2013 08:57 AM

wrecked my rsx, and at first didnt want the 370z because A LOT of people in my area had 350z's but then i had an epiphany and realized the 370z is a badass b*tch!

Minsu 12-13-2013 09:05 AM

oh she a bad b**ch.

damian_mb 12-13-2013 09:40 AM

Impulse buy......and my WRX was taking too long to get here from across the pond.

BUT I've always loved the Z33

6MT 12-13-2013 09:58 AM

to pick up chicks, mon!:ughdance:

waaaasabi 12-13-2013 10:37 AM

Because I made a poll on the370z.com asking which car to buy and everyone said 370z

Bking 12-13-2013 10:45 AM

I was debating between the 370 and the 335 coupe. My gf told me the Z looks a lot better and suits me a lot more than the 335. I agree. For this price range there aren't many cars that can perform, let alone look as good as the 370.

TheGreatOne 12-13-2013 10:47 AM

mehhh, I could answer this again lol.

- Z fanboy for a long time
- Wanted a car that was not common and seen everyday
- Its wide and aggressive looking yet classy.
- Good bang for the buck

Funny enough wanted a 350 forever and didn't care for the 370 until I really got to look one over. Fell in love and wife said get it before we have kids, so jumped on that and still have it even though we have a 2yr old now. win - win :driving:

coolvans1988 12-13-2013 10:59 AM

Had the 350z, traded it in for the 2013 Altima.
Altima is a nice car but it didn't have the performance my wife and i were use too.
Wife had a bucket car that stopped working. We needed a 2nd car.
Since she barely started working at the Nissan Dealership, we decided to
get the 370z as well. Now we have 2 cars to share

edub370 12-13-2013 11:02 AM

As said by 95% of Z buyers since the early 1970's. :rofl2:
