I am OK with the keyless entry but had Nissan stuck with a conventional arrangement to stick a key in an ignition switch we wouldn't have the stupid engineering of the steering lock that failed and wouldn't have a big wad of keys in our pockets or in the cup holder because they would be in the ignition where they worked pretty well for about the last 100 years.
Ever lock your keys in any of your previous cars? How many times have you locked your keys in your Z?

Yes. I locked my keys in my car once in 42 years of driving. It was in 1973. I was stoned. Not only did I lock my keys in the car, but I left it running. I popped the hood and pulled the coil wire to kill the engine. Walked about 6 blocks home, got the spare house key I had hidden outside, let myself into my apartment, got my spare car keys and hoofed it back to where my car was parked. After that I always had a spare key attached to my cars somewhere and not one of those worthless metal magnetic boxes. And you know what ? Never locked my keys in the car again and to use a spare key. It's all about training your brain not to do something stupid.
