How much have you spend modding your 370Z

Anything you added to your 370Z e.g. Nav Bypass Kit, Floor Mats, and Cat Back, Aftermarket Stereo.

I am not counting tires, brakes, and other odds and ends.

Wow, I didn't think it was that high.

I keep a running tally in a notebook, and even with buying quite a few things used, I'm just over 10K at $10,250 :ugh2:

$7000 of that was just the following 4 things lol:

-Wheels (ISS Forged)
-Tires (RE-11's)
-Coilovers (Stance GR+)
-Exhaust (Fast Intentions with CF)

But hey, I love my Z, money well spent but I really didn't think I spent that much...its easy to get up there. Anyone who is boosted is easily over 10K

can't let wife see this thread lol.

kenchan 11-12-2013 09:45 AM

$0.00 my mod are photoshopped.

Shadezz 11-12-2013 09:46 AM

Yeah I'm close to 5k with modz, track day stuff and fees.....plan on spending even more.

Mt Tam I am 11-12-2013 09:50 AM

I am including paid labor.

kenchan 11-12-2013 09:53 AM

I'm as stock as the day it rolled off the line in Japan.

Mike 11-12-2013 10:54 AM

well over 60k, if you count consumables like tires and brake pads.

kenchan 11-12-2013 11:03 AM

mike is talking dollars, not milage. :D

JWillis72 11-12-2013 11:08 AM

I voted $10-15K because I'm just under $15K now but it will be $20K+ by early next year.

Not enough. Its been a tight 2 years. Bought a house and got married. Hopefully that will change in the next few months :) the money I spend on my car, not the house or marriage lol.

LMBmikeZ 11-12-2013 11:58 AM

In all honesty I am probably only around $5-5500 and by spring you can add another $1000+ cause I need tires...........again :icon17:

zguynate 11-12-2013 12:04 PM

I have spent a little more than I thought at $2100.

Do consumables count as mods? I can see upgraded brakes are a mod but replacing the brake pads when they wear I wouldn't think would be considered?! Same with Tires and anything else that wears out...lol.

zeeder 11-12-2013 12:34 PM

So far I've just done tint and the evo-r.net Z emblems (not installed yet) but my wish list includes:

- spacers
- post-maf tubes w/ K&N drop-ins
- exhaust (Berk or Ark DT-S)
- sway bar(s)

Things on my undecided/post-warranty list include:

- hfcs
- M370 manifold
- tune

Down the road, when the stock components wear out I may start messing with suspension mods but as long as I DD my car I have to have stock height or super close.

Voice59 11-12-2013 12:41 PM

Including labor probably in the 15-20k range. It hurts me to spend that much money, but I love everything I've done and am still doing.

Big pocket hurters:

GTM 1.5 SC kit $7k+
Volk VR G2's $3200 (originally $3900)
Rep. Amuse $2200
RS1 Fenders $1000

And that's just the parts themselves... I haven't even mentioned half of the other mods done.

Cell 11-12-2013 12:49 PM

At around 12-13k now. Will break 20k in a few years when I go for beefier internals.

7speed 11-12-2013 12:56 PM

Spoiler $130, AEM CAI $380, used HFC $150, used Nismo exhaust $400, sport Rays wheels $680, GTR button and swapping of interior, license, parking lights, used floor mats.

Right about $2g's between parts and install for some. Wait damn all of this within a span of 8 months. I hate this thread TROYZ, I just realized I could have paid off 2 grand of car loan.:icon14:

MJB 11-12-2013 12:56 PM

I don't know, I don't like to think about how much I spent. Makes me feel guilty... Since I'm going to be selling the Z soon, I don't want to think about all the money I wasted.

How in the hell do tires and brakes, two of the most expensive things you can mod besides the engine, not count?

SouthArk370Z 11-12-2013 01:34 PM

Let's see... $160 for the ScanGuageII. $20-30 for an OBD-to-USB adapter. $50 to have the hatch area interior panels R&Red so I could install some free sound dampening material (thank you GTMat). $200 on some exhaust mods. Somewhere around $100 for a GPS/Nav gadget. And $20 for the the370z.com stickers. I'd like to have some tuning software but mainly to tweak the radiator fans and such, not actual tuning, so I haven't been able to justify the expense.

geez, how do you remember all those purchases? wow!

i thought the a/c was hooked up to the radiator fans. just run defrost and you got radiator fan control...?

tibal 11-12-2013 01:42 PM

hmmmm not as much as people think!! ;)

Great tip! I do turn on the A/C for a while (I usually have it set for fan-only) if oil/water temps get too high in stop-and-go traffic but would rather have the car do it for me. I'm pretty lazy and tapping that button is a lot of effort. :)

He's not talking about a BBK or brake upgrade, he's talking about brake wear expenses. Also, I don't how you could possibly count tires as a mod. Tires are required and just like any replacement wear items there are various levels of quality replacements but they're still just tires...lol.

LMBmikeZ 11-12-2013 02:30 PM

I dunno good tires make a huge difference :ugh2:

I agree, just the same as good brake pads make a huge difference compared to the bargain bin. It's definitely an upgrade, I just wouldn't classify it as a mod. That said, it's entirely possible that I'm wrong but, in the grand scheme of things, it just boils down to semantics!
