Yeah, it's an interesting choice of words...

I kinda see the twins as the "other MX-5" at this point. It's really a cone-dodger's car rather than a re-affirmation of youth, masculinity, power, and excitement. That's definitely more like Corvette territory.

Also, at least in the US, it's a very youth targeted car -- especially the FR-S.

Anyway, very curious to learn what the new competition from Nissan will be...

I think you nailed it with that "cone dodger-youth target". For the performance thats exactly what it is. And its good and fun!! Seeing it Sebring changed my view of it. Again, that being said, I think a $22-$24K OTD is a more acceptable price point. Im curious to see what Nissan brings to the table. The older I get the more $ i have (Thank God), I might be in the market for a Cayman S in two years. Then again, I wouldnt mind sticking with Nissan if they could offer Porsche performance for a 1/3 the price (albeit 1/10 the refinement).

They kinda did with the Z (in 2009). Lightning could strike again :p

Ever hear of the nav option? Makes the interior look 1,000,000x better then that stupid cubby! Sorry guys who like it but I am not one of them!

Yeah, that wasn't something I was considering since I knew the stereo I was replacing would be a DVD/nav version and I didn't want two screens. I actually like my cubby, best place for my sunglasses and business cards.

Plus personally I don't think the standard nav looks good at all. Too many buttons and angles with a sunken in screen at the back of the pocket. My stereo is a clean 7" screen with three tiny buttons underneath, everything on it is touchscreen. I really like the cleanliness of the touchscreen.

my cubby is part of my modshack-designed kenchan fabricated bracket. :D

Went to go check out the FRS today for fun. Sticker price ranged from $26- $30 on the 4 the were on the lot. Sat in one & looked behind me. Man how dare they call this a 4 seat car. The only people fitting back there are either riding in car seats or have no legs. Although I didn't drive one, sitting in it I felt the seats were comfortable, but seems the Z leather seats are firmer. I feel the interior is not even close between the FRS & 370z & at $30g's I'd pay a couple grand more for the 370z.

:twocents: YMMV

The back seats help you keep insurance costs down. That's it.

Uhhh...yea, exactly. Drove both the frs and brz. Very underwhelmed. I was a HUGE nay sayer to this car. Close to $30K??? Well, been to Sebring a few times, see them on the track, now they arent setting any records, neither are stock Z's, that being said, its a FANTASTIC, simple platform to toss around. Real good fun factor. Then again, for he price, Ill have a Z, have as much fun and exponentially faster in every area. Fun, little car, but $30K? No way, $21-23 tops, would be ok.

So what the manufacturers of BRZ and these low hp cars designed all this themselves. Nissan should diss them because they are trying to compete or watever that friendly s*** they are trying to portray. :bowrofl:
