The Z's are pretty rare in my area and I've been asked twice if it was a Porche. I can see how someone who has no interest in cars can be mistaken though, my wife pointed out a Porche and asked if it was a Z like mine and its a recurring joke with her to ask whenever she sees one.

I love the free space behind the passenger seat!

I got this yesterday, showed a picture of my car to a female bar tender and she asked if it was a Porsche. Made me giggle and think of this thread.

I, for one, don't. I think Porsches are ugly. I think the only resemblance between the two is the big rear end.

i have had a couple people think my Z was a porsche, i cant blame them either, the 370z does have similar lines to a porsche

Was at a Walgreens last night. A late 80's model 944 was outside and the owner was at the redbox getting a movie. As I walked by I told him he had a nice 300Z. I got the dirtiest look, then he laughed at me when I got in my Z.

My girlfriend was like why did he look at you like that. Too difficult to explain, so I told her it was a misunderstanding and that's why he laughed at me.

I had an 07 350Z and everyone asked "is that a porsche" questions. Then I bought an 07 Cayman S and everyone asked "is that a 350Z" questions. I haven't had the 370Z long enough to get any questions like that.

To which i had to explain this is the newer version.

I have no idea what you are talking about as I am not harassing you. I never have harassed you, in my opinion, and everything I write is true by the way. As a rule, hyper-sensitive people maybe should not post their thoughts and antics in public forums if they are afraid of how people may reply. If one feels offended or harassed when folks comment on posts, then maybe a public forum is not such a good idea. Just a thought.

Never been asked if either of my Porsches are Z's. I was asked many times if my Z was a Porsche though.

In my opinion, up until this current generation of Porsches, the Z is better looking. The current gen though are :yum:

They made the Cayman look too much like a 911, from the front you can't tell the difference................I still think the 987.2 looks better than the 981's.
