I'd rather have the NSX.

TerribleONE 10-24-2013 05:03 PM

Tough choice.. would you leave the Z stock?

kntrider 10-24-2013 05:04 PM

Don't do it! You will always regret it!

The Z is a nice car but the NSX is a special car.

An 09 Z will depreciate into the teens next year while a pampered NSX will continue to appreciate for years.

A new Z will likely be better than the current one, not so sure about the NSX.

I have an S2000 which is a special car to me that I pull less miles on than your NSX for the same fears you have but I would never sell it.

Hope to have a GTR, NSX and S2000 in my garage and I'm happy.

So far I'm getting "keep the nsx". But what about the nsx that you guys like more than the Z besides "it's a classis", "reliable Ferrari"? You guys own a Z, that mean you can definitely get into an nsx (early models). What draw you to the Z?

Like you I have a GTI and that's a good daily drive.

If I had a choice to buy a new Z or a used NSX, I'd buy the new Z. In fact, when I bought my Z, a neighbor was interested in selling his NSX, but I wasn't interested. However, if I had already owned an NSX, not sure if I would sell it for the Z.

What does your wife drive? If it can be the practical car for the family, maybe keep the NSX and get the Z as your daily.

Good luck khoala, you can't go wrong either way.

The most Id do is exhaust and coilovers. Just like my nsx is now

I spend 28K for my 370Z with only 12k on the odo, practically new. I doubt that I will be able to find an NSX in this price range and in the same condition.

1) First it's it style, although it's been 20+ years since its first release, its styling still catch many many people eyes when seeing one on the street.

2) The engine, although VTEC or variable timing is nothing new to modern technology, the NSX is the first production car equipped with performance tuned VTEC engine. Don't forget, the NSX VTEC can rev all the way up to 8000rpm... and we are talking about an engine from 20+ years ago.

3) The design and material being used on the chassis. Its chassis is aluminum monocoque, forged aluminum suspension. Plus the aluminum body.

4) The layout, mid-engine-rearwheel-drive, that means the most balanced and ideal layout for sports car, and the most to have fun with. And it is very difficult to find a modern sports car with this MR layout besides Ferrari and Lamborghini.

5) Value, its value is always there.

Did I miss anything..?? :icon17:

WOW!:bowrofl: all true

But you got a Z, so what draw YOU to the Z?

xxAGAVExx 10-24-2013 05:32 PM

Keep the nsx, maybe drop some money into if needed. My friend has an nsx, he just spent a lot of money repainting it, updating the headlights, new seats, headers, stereo etc. man is it sweet. It's has such an iconic body style, and with the updates my friend did, it looks like it could be a 2014 car, doesn't look out dated.

Dude keep the NSX. You've asked a couple times why we bought a Z if given the choice of an NSX. Well, I bought the Z the beat the **** out of DD; change the oil and fart in the seats every now and then. It's my daily driver. My garage queen is not a Z but could be an NSX if the deal was right but the 370Z is not "rare" like some talk about and will go the way of Uncle Ben's as the resale price goes down.

Disclaimer: I'm not bashing the Z like some "leases" but enjoy flogging it like it should be.

told you I LOVE NSX...!!! :bowrofl::bowrofl:

because the Z is a DD in the summer, if I have an NSX, I will have to DD it in the summer too.... which I think I will waste and put too much wear and tear on it.

Also, a used NSX(the old version with pop-up headlight) in good condition is about $30,000+

I can't afford that yet... :p

There are two vintage classic I always want to have, one of them is the E30 M3, and the other is the NSX...

ka24king 10-24-2013 05:51 PM

ill trade you my z for the nsx lol :p nah but really dont let go man i wish i could find a nice nsx.

i bought my Z cause i fell in luv with it the moment i saw one driving down the road. and when i test drove one it drove well, like a E46 bimmer-ish car and shorter wheel base and wider than the 350Z, i just thought it would make a great grand touring car for my weekend spirited drive. :D 4yrs + since taking ownership, im still enjoying the Z. and my Z is stock. mods are all photoshopped. :rofl2:

khoala 10-24-2013 05:55 PM

I guess in a way I'm looking for something I can drive more often and not be too worried (i.e Z). But, damn you guys are making me rethink this. lol
