um..In regards to the buttons that are suppose to adjust the brightness; When I press them and mess around with them, I never notice any change in the brightness ..are they broken or something?

These only work when headlights are on. Even though the guages are always illuminated, you cant adjust the daytime illumination, only the night time (or when headlights are on)
