My take is that when he said find out about the next z in tokyo he meant that ugly boxy econobox datsun concept. Now it makes sense when he said the next z wont look like your typical sports car.

Guys, read the article linked below and then compare to what's actually happened in Tokyo so far. I'm really starting to think the IDx is the next Z. Unbelievable if true.

IDx checks all the boxes:

[x] Smaller and lighter than the current 370Z
[x] Could look quite different from a traditional sports car
[x] A high-powered Nismo version is on the agenda, too
[x] The Juke Nismo offers some hints at what Nissan is looking at
[x] Does it need to look like a Toyota GT 86? No
[x] When will you see it? Come to Tokyo

It would make sense for a line of cars that was originally intended for the American market but I guess we shall see

here's the thing, they just gave the 370z a facelift with the 2013 model. why would they unveil a new z already? it wont happen. not for another year or two.

I guess idx is z replacement then??

That's quite a huge stretch to call adding DRL'S a facelift...
