If I'm not mistaken you vert Z weighs around 3600 pounds vs base Z that weighs around 3200 pounds. Every 100 pounds is equivelent to 10 hp or a tenth at the track (rule of thumb numbers). So if your concerned and want to be faster without modding your motor then put your Z on a diet. A lotus Elise with 190 HP would destroy your Z simply due to power to weight ratio. |

Lotus Elise 1/4 mile 13.3 So YES in a straight line the Lotus elise with 189 Hp would beat the Ops car meeting his criteria of NO forced induction. |
Depends on driver and year. Moter trend got a 13.5 out of theirs- 2005 Lotus Elise - First Drive & Road Test Review - Motor Trend

I learned really quickly after i leased this car that its not a stop light car, if i dont get a perfect launch im struggling to get past a V6 Camry/Accord. This car has barely any low end torque especially on the manual tranny.
Even though ive launched faster than 335i's, evos, stis because im a good driver, those cars do it easier. Also the GT 5.0 has dusted me every time by a full car length. |
