Pearl White or Gun Metallic?
 

Once again, I am torn between the two beautiful colors. I've been debating for months now and can't seem to come to a conclusion. I have gone to the dealership countless times to view them in person but cannot settle on a color. Although the engine mods would be the same for either colors, I have great ideas in terms of cosmetic mods for both colors.

Pearl White: Black rooftop, black rims with red calipers, tinted windows with red side-mirrors, black fangs with an either black or carbon fiber lip, the inside of my headlights done in black, and dim my taillights as well.

Gun Metallic: Black rims with red calipers, tinted windows, and maybe a few other very minor mods (color of spoiler, doorhandles, etc.) (Feel free to suggest ideas)

And suggestions?:tup:

A) I see 500 times more PWs than GM, so I'm over PW

B) Red calipers on GM... Eh... Not sure I like that idea

I see a lot of both.

I'd go GM if I had to choose between the two. Black accents (handles, rims, or even the roof) would blend well, yet still be subtle.

It's funny, in Dallas at the meets, a billion blues, decent amount of PWs
In CA at the meets, 20 whites, 1 blue, 1 yellow, 1 GM, 1 black (maybe)

Texas is a blue state....heheheheheh

There's a reason why PW is popular. It really is an easy color to deal with and nice to look at. The kumbaya of colors.

I've seen one red, two MR, and my MdB.

Haven't seen the old blue other than Nissan showing it off at Westgate.

Had an 09 in PW, sold it for a 13 in GM. Never looked back for a second.

The bad news is if you end up with a PW you will think GM is better. But if you get a GM you will regret why you didn't get a PW in the first place.

Both colors are pretty sweet and I'd take either one. Any damage or dirt will show up on the white pretty easy, though.

I've never understood the love affair people have with white. I'd take any color over white except maybe a green, pink, brown, or purple.

Haha that's really cool! Here in New England you hardly find a blue 370. Red is even less almost not exist. Lol. PW, GM, Black and Silver are the most common ones around here.

For me gun metal....with getting a Nismo I love the gun metal paint with the gun metal wheels. However I really do like the PW 2014 Nismo.

I would have bought a PG Z if I could have received the same $7400 discount that I got on BS.

GM is close to PG so I am partial to it.

My former car was dark and getting inside on a sunny day stank. With the light color and seats, it just doesn't matter anymore. Something to consider and a nod towards PW.

Gunmetal and red calipers look nice on them. The 2013 sports have them and look nice.

pearl white in pictures does no justice! When the paint is perfectly detailed, swirl free and waxed the pearl in the paint is insane almost shines blue.

Gun Metallic for sure. But really it all boils down to what do YOU like and what will make YOU happy.

Sounds like you're in love with both. Only advice I can give is buy two Z's :tup:

Personal preference of course. For example...some people like the yellow Z, others think it looks like a mini school bus. Anyway, I owned an '07 350Z Gun Metal and no matter how nice and waxed it looked, it just didn't have that shine we all love after spending an entire weekend detailing it. I owned a Pearl White Altima and always loved how it looked. Also, Gun Metal and Silver Z's are common place and won't turn heads like white will. Just one man's opinion! By the way, I am currently in the market for a Pearl White 370Z Roadster. Yellow is a definate head turner, but I never really loved it.

I love the way PW looks in different light. Sometimes is is super bright paint like straight white, sometimes it has a satin look to it in lower light, and sometimes the pearl sparkles and looks like a diamond!

GM and heres why...

1) easier to maintain and should last longer than white after the years
2) easier to color match if you are gonna have kits/cf pieces
3) less common comparing to pearl white Z
4) head turner with or without the sun (especially the flat GM color when the sun is not out)

At the end, it all comes down to personal tastes and prefrences. And i have to respectfully disagree with the "grass is always greener" on the other side comment. Cause we all know that if we will choose a black Z if we have to all over again :D

Haha yeah but I never realized how hard it was to keep a black car looking clean until I owned one. I will admit I think it is one of the best looking colors when it's freshly cleaned. BUT it quickly starts looking like **** after a few days of driving. Even if I leave it in the garage I can clearly see the dust settling on the surface :shakes head:

EDIT: For the least amount of maintenance / hiding your laziness to wash, I'd go with silver. I almost did too until I saw GM in person :nutswinger:

I am surprised people haven't mentioned PW adds addition 30hp while DG gets more torque.:icon17:

White , your car is easier for others to see, safer?, and cooler. And IMHO, doesn't stand out for law enforcement. Yes, you will wash it more. GM is harder to see, especially in the twilight hours, and you still get to was it.

If i had not bought my 2013 in PW, i would have been all over the GM! You sir have a tough decision to make :tup:
