Oh guys. Bad night.

Driving home with a buddy and decided to show him how cool my car was. Of course that was a mistake, because while my car may be cool, it reacts badly to an idiot behind the wheel (me).

Took a left turn slow then nailed it with (please don't laugh at me) traction off. Went way wide, way fast. Got off the gas too fast, snapped the other way too fast, lost it. Went over the median sideways.

Damage report:

Two driver side airbags deployed (I have no idea why, I just hit a median with my wheels). One of those airbags is inside the seat lining, so the seat is all torn apart.
Crunched Rays rear rim (not salvageable)
Rear wheel is bent about 10 degrees inwards at the bottom
No body or underside damage as far as i can tell

I think that's it.

Will this cost me my life's savings?

Now I am going to go to sit in a corner in a fetal position while rocking back and forth, crying and sucking my thumb.

No. I was too upset to take pics. Dude, I had to suffer the indignity of having my 18 year old son come to pick me up after the tow truck took baby away. He put his arm around me and lectured me about cautious driving.

Please remove that emoticon. That is not freaking funny. Some people have no empathy.

You have to laugh it off or you're just gonna drive yourself nuts. Don't be a cry baby about it. Everyone walked away, that's the important thing.

I am sorry to hear, but at least you and your son have a sense of humor.

Goodluck with the repairs. We all do dumb things from time to time.

You must have stomped that pedal hard. Every now and then I pull a power slide just for fun but you gotta try small ones first.

We can't tell you how much it will cost because there arent any pics but the cost of airbags won't be cheap at all.

Showing off gone wrong. Sucks but at least you're not hurt. I suggest next time you learn how your car reacts at it's limit on a track.

I just want to help out a fellow Canadian. Anyways, the worst part about all of this are the airbags and suspension (control arms, bushings, bearings, tie rods and end links to name some).

You should take it to an alignment shop to check how bad it actually is. It might be embarrassing but just say it was because of the weather. Then take it from there.
