Check it out - CF pillars cheap!

3M has an amazing new product out that looks like CF. It has a weave and everything. You really have to see this stuff in person to believe it. Just had my pillars done. Unfortunatley I had to take the pics in the dark with a flash but you get the idea :) I asked the installer about doing up kits for a DIY.....

I was just over to show a friend of mine who is a Z nut the car for the first time and he asked if the CF was stock. I had to tell him no and its not CF :)

Yea but for people who just want CF for the look why pay for real CF? I can understand using it for its intended purpose of light weight and strength replacement parts. But if you are just slapping it over top of another part instead of replacing it....

SPAWN is the way to GO!!!! SPAWNSPAWNSPAWN!!!!! I cant wait to get my pillars.

Ours are replacements but I do see your point. But the 3M stuff does look pretty noice!

Hmmm I was thinking of blacking out the front, but maybe I can cover it with CF tape, got to look into it we'll see.

Are you asking me? I'm not sure I forgot to ask him, I'll probobly text him tomorrow if I remember. maybe a lot since the job was done really well, it could easily fool anyone who doesn't know what real CF looks like, even I was fooled, I saw it and I was thinking "this doesn't look like any CF I've seen before, but it looks great!!"

I just remember him saying his exhaust was around 10K. and I thought the Zele exhaust was expensive!!!

the real CF stuff looks soooo much better than the fake, it has to do with the contrast with the light shining on it. I love it.
A trained eye can pick up fake to real pretty easily.

At first I didn't think I liked the CF pillar look but after seeing these pics I'm sold! Gonna have to add it to my list of upgrades!

Which is what is cool about this stuff. Its textured like CF so it changes with the angle of lighting just like CF.

yeah i have seen it in person. It really does look pretty close to a real Dry Carbon mold.
