I actually don't fully agree with this. For instance, my Eclipse has the plate "1NFOS3C." I also have a "HACK" sticker next to it (hack the planet sticker, to be clear).
If you know the industry or have some ties to IT, you can probably guess "info sec" being short for information security, which is my area. My parents still sometimes ask what it means, and I get the question every now and then by strangers. I don't mind explaining it, and it's really just a wink and nod to those that do get it. My Z's plates that are waiting for me are "SEC Z." Same wink and nod, but at least it now doubles as "sexy" with a Z in it. I didn't get Sinister Z, but I probably would have if I were behind you at a light for a while. Eventually if I don't get a plate, I'll just start saying it out loud, and often that solves it. |
