Buying a house is easy these days. I wish I had looked into it more seriously sooner. FHA has loans where don't even need any money down. I would have bought a house 10 years ago if had known how easy it was going to be.

Yeah but everyone doesn't have the credit or a good credit history etc etc to qualify.... Heck I know other Pilots that I fly with that just rather let it be someone else's headache when sh*t breaks/goes wrong etc....

Totally. Not a huge fan of FHA loans but it does help those who want to own. I'm more of a conventional guy, 20% down to avoid mortgage insurance and to opt out of tax escrow.

That sucks OP. My Z is garaged but I'm still paranoid sometimes leaving it in busy lots when I take it out

Yep, that's always a better way to go if you can afford it.

I just purchased a second home and went conventional. I payed the PMI/MIP off up front and did not have put down 20%. Maybe that is a new option? I dont know. It saved me having to put down 20% though.

I hear ya... every area is different. Personally, I wouldn't want to live in a place where I couldn't afford the housing. Just my 2 cents.
